Objectives: To develop the meaning of menopause of a group of post-menopausal women and their relationship with aging.
Methods: Qualitative descriptive study on 15 Chilean women that completed a taped face-to-face in depth interview that were interpreted according to Krippendorff.
Results: A qualitative content analysis revealed the presence of two themes: (a) Cessation of women´s reproductive stage and (b) a life transition to aging.
Conclusions: Women perceived their menopause as the beginning of aging focusing on the end of fertility and the social connotation that this new role implies. Feeling old 10 years before the customary beginning of old age is an important starting point to be incorporated in women's health education.

Female individuals who are post-menopausal present with higher incidence of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) than male counterparts; however, the mechanisms underlying this disparity are unknown. The most commonly used preclinical models lack human-relevant menopausal phenotypes, which may contribute to our incomplete understanding of sex-specific differences in KOA pathogenesis. Here we chemically induced menopause in middle-aged (14-16 months) C57/BL6N female mice.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem autoimmune rheumatic disease (ARD) that results from the dysregulation of multiple innate and adaptive immune pathways. Late-onset SLE (Lo-SLE) is the term used when the disease is first diagnosed after 50-65 years, though the standard age cut-off remains undefined. Defining "late-onset" as lupus with onset after 50 years is more biologically plausible as this roughly corresponds to the age of menopause.

The increase of the incidence of autoimmune diseases and, at the same time, a significant surge in the number of regenerative/anti-aging medicine treatments carried out, raises the need to systematise the current knowledge on the safety of the use of hyaluronic acid fillers in patients with autoimmune diseases and to frame management guidelines for aesthetic doctors. One of the most prevalent autoimmune diseases is chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, so-called Hashimoto's disease, which affects one in every 5-10 women who visit a regenerative medicine doctor. Women in the perimenopausal and menopausal period, aged 40-54 years, were the single largest target group for aesthetic treatments.

Invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) is the most common type of breast cancer, primarily affecting women in the United States and across the world. This review summarizes key concepts related to IDC causes, treatment approaches, and the identification of biological markers for specific prognoses. Furthermore, we reviewed many studies, including those involving patients with IDC and ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) that progressed to IDC.
