Aims: Understanding the global burden of disease attributable to high body mass index (BMI) is essential for informing public health strategies and interventions to mitigate the impact of obesity-related conditions.
Methods And Results: The global deaths and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) caused by high BMI were examined based on age, sex, year, and geographical location as well as socio-demographic index. Globally in 2021, the deaths and DALYs attributable to high BMI have risen 2.

Musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders significantly contribute to global disability, especially in high-income countries. Yet, comprehensive studies on their epidemiological burden in the United States (US) are limited. Our study aims to fill this gap by characterizing the MSK disease burden in the US using Global Burden of Disease (GBD) data from 1990 to 2019.

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major global health threat. Despite ongoing efforts to control and eradicate TB, various factors including socioeconomic issues, policy modifications, and unexpected public health crises like COVID-19 pandemic have posed new obstacles to achieving TB elimination. This study aims to analyze the changes in global tuberculosis burden over the past 32 years, and provide scientific support for global initiatives targeting the eradication of TB in the post-pandemic period.

This study presents a systematic approach for developing an innovative hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) method for collagen peptide mapping analysis. The predominant post-translational modification (PTM) of collagen, proline hydroxylation, introduces polar hydroxyl groups throughout the collagen sequence, making HILIC a promising alternative to classical reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) approaches. This study employs sixteen model peptides, selected from in silico predicted tryptic peptides with zero missed cleavages and representing diverse physicochemical properties and structural motifs of collagen.

Stroke remains a critical global health issue, significantly impacting India with substantial contributions to mortality and disability. This study comprehensively analyses stroke incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) across India from 1990 to 2021, using the latest Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021 data. We evaluate how Universal Health Coverage (UHC), health expenditure, human development index (HDI), and gross national income (GNI) influence stroke outcomes.
