Background And Objectives: Clinical care for people living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (PLWALS) is directed at slowing disease progression and symptom management. The American Academy of Neurology recommends a multidisciplinary approach to providing ALS health care because observational studies show that multidisciplinary clinics (MDCs) extend survival and improve quality of life. However, providing multidisciplinary care is a challenging financial proposition.

To evaluate the management and costs of severe hypoglycemia (SH) in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in our Belgian tertiary pediatric care center. In the EPI-GLUREDIA study, clinical parameters from children and adolescents with T1D were retrospectively analyzed from July 2017 to June 2024. The characteristics of SH and its treatment were collected during the medical consultation following the SH episode.

Background: Metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) treatment is advancing yet Nordic, real-world evidence for its use is scarce. In this population-based cohort study, we describe characteristics of patients with mCRPC, and their treatment patterns and survival outcomes in Finland.
Methods: Incident patients with mCRPC diagnosed during 2013-2021 were identified from data lakes in two large and representative, Finnish hospital districts, and linked to data on drug purchases and causes of death from national registries.

Pancreatic insufficiency is a major complication of cystic fibrosis (CF), which traditionally has been managed with pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy in the vast majority of CF patients, even in the era of highly effective cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator modulator (CFTRm) therapy. We report on a 1.7 year old male infant with CF who was exposed to ETI both in utero and postpartum, via breast milk and oral granules.

Objectives: Hearing loss is associated with increased cognitive decline and incident dementia in older adults. Given the rapidly rising incidence of dementia, management of modifiable risk factors such as hearing loss, is essential to mitigate the impact on the individual and society in general. In this narrative review, we discuss the current state-of-art with respect to studying cognitive function before and after cochlear implantation in the elderly population.
