The complete set of specific markers of hepatitis B has been identified, thus making it possible to evaluate the spread of this infection in family foci, as well as the intensity and dynamics of the epidemic process, under the conditions of prolonged observations. The study has shown that the spread of hepatitis B infection is determined by the presence of HBeAg in antigen-positive patients with viral hepatitis B and HBsAg carriers.

Development and validation of a prognostic nomogram for predicting of patients with acute sedative-hypnotic overdose admitted to the intensive care unit.

Sci Rep

Emergency Medicine Laboratory and the Department of Emergency, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, No. 37 Guoxue Alley, Chengdu, 610041, Sichuan, China.

To develop and evaluate a predictive model for intensive care unit (ICU) admission among patients with acute sedative-hypnotic overdose. We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients admitted to the emergency department of West China Hospital, Sichuan University, between October 11, 2009, and December 31, 2023. Patients were divided into ICU and non-ICU groups based on admission criteria including the need for blood purification therapy, organ support therapy (ventilatory support, vasoactive drugs, renal replacement therapy, artificial liver), or post-cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

To establish and validate a nomogram based on clinical characteristics and metabolic parameters derived from F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography and computed tomography (F-FDG PET/CT) for prediction of high-grade patterns (HGP) in invasive lung adenocarcinoma. The clinical and PET/CT image data of 311 patients who were confirmed invasive lung adenocarcinoma and underwent pre-treatment F-FDG PET/CT scan in Beijing Hospital between October 2017 and March 2022 were retrospectively collected. The enrolled patients were divided into HGP group (196 patients) and non-HGP group (115 patients) according to the presence and absence of HGP.

The advent of immunotherapy in cancer has provided new avenues in the treatment of many malignancies at various stages. Specifically, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have transformed the field of lung cancer treatment. However, since some tumors can evade the immune system, not all patients respond properly.

Introduction: The occurrence of Gleason grade group upgrading (GGU) significantly impacts both treatment strategy development. We aim to develop an optimal predictive model to assess the risk of GGU in patients with localized prostate cancer (PCa), by comparing traditional logistic regression (LR) with seven machine learning algorithms.

Methods: A retrospective collection of clinical data was conducted on patients who underwent RP at Wuhan Central Hospital (January 2017 to December 2023, n=177) and Jiangxi Cancer Hospital (July 2019 to February 2024, n=87).

Purpose: SARS-CoV-2-specific CD8 cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) are crucial in viral clearance, disease progression, and reinfection control. However, numerous SARS-CoV-2 immunodominant CTL epitopes theoretically are still unidentified due to the genetic polymorphism of human leukocyte antigen class I (HLA-I) molecules.

Methods: The CTL epitopes of SARS-CoV-2 were predicted by the epitope affinity and immunogenicity prediction platforms: the NetMHCpan and the PromPPD.
