Three new species of the genus from caves in the states of Pará and Minas Gerais, Brazil, are described. , from Minas Gerais, is the first record of the genus in the southeastern region of Brazil. and , from Carajás, Pará, north of Brazil, are also described. The former is an extremely abundant species, whereas the latter has only one known male specimen. is proposed and represented by two new species, (type species) and , both from the state of Minas Gerais. Morphology of genitalia in is similar to other Theridiosomatidae genera and is herein discussed. None of the proposed species presents troglomorphic adaptations. They are widespread, abundant inside caves in different and large karst areas, and each genus prefers different lithologies.

We have examined the male-specific phylogeography of the Levant and its surroundings by analyzing Y-chromosomal haplogroup distributions using 5874 samples (885 new) from 23 countries. The diversity within some of these haplogroups was also examined. The Levantine populations showed clustering in SNP and STR analyses when considered against a broad Middle-East and North African background.
