Objective: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a prominent public health concern, is defined as functional and structural damage to the kidneys. This study aims to investigate the association between human leukocyte antigen (HLA) alleles individuals with CKD and the different etiological subgroups of diesease.
Methods: Genomic DNA was obtained from peripheral blood samples of 1,079 patients with retrospective CKD and 1,111 healthy control individuals.

Background: Exosomes can be found in the synovial fluid of inflamed knee joints, which play a significant role in osteoarthritis (OA) progression. However, their role - in modulating the cellular environment within the body, particularly monocytes remain unexplored. This study aimed to evaluate the immunomodulatory effect of exosomes on monocytes.

Background: The measurement of neurofilament light (NFL) in blood samples has been established as a sensitive measure of neuroaxonal damage in a wide range of diseases in the peripheral and central nervous system, including multiple sclerosis (MS). Previous studies have identified confounding factors that may influence the serum concentration of NFL.
Aim: We aimed at investigating the relationship between known confounders (age, body mass index, blood volume) and risk factors for MS (smoking and human leukocyte antigen (HLA)) on serum concentrations of NFL in control subjects.

According to morphological features, tumor-infiltrating B cells (TIL-Bs) can be classified as lympho-myeloid aggregates (LMAs) and tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs). As a disease with high incidence and mortality, research on esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) TIL-Bs is still unclear. Thus, we aimed to investigate the prognostic value and functional involvement of TIL-Bs in ESCC.

Background: Pouchitis is an inflammatory condition that affects the ileal pouch during ileal pouch-anal anastomosis surgery. Despite its clinical significance, precise immunological mechanisms underlying pouchitis remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the lymphocyte profile in the ileal pouch of patients with pouchitis compared to those with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and ulcerative colitis without pouchitis using flow cytometry and immunohistochemical techniques.
