Highly crystalline TiO nanostructured films were synthesized by a simple steam treatment of a TiCl precursor film under a saturated water vapor atmosphere at 125 °C, here referred to as the steam-annealing method. In a single TiO film preparation step, a bilayer structure comprising a compact bottom layer and a mesoporous surface layer was formed. The mesoporous layer was occupied by bipyramidal nanoparticles, with a composite phase of anatase and brookite crystals. Despite the low-temperature treatment process, the crystallinity of the TiO film was high, comparable with that of the TiO film sintered at 500 °C. The compact double-layered TiO film was applied to perovskite solar cells (PSCs) as an electron-collecting layer. The PSC exhibited a maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 18.9% with an open-circuit voltage ( V) of 1.15 V. The PCE and V were higher than those of PSCs using a TiO film formed by 500 °C sintering.

Electrochromic capacitors, which are capable of altering their appearances in line with their charged states, are drawing substantial attention from both academia and industry. Tungsten oxide is usually used as an electrochromic layer material for electrochromic devices, or as an active material for high-performance capacitor electrodes. Despite this, acceptable visual aesthetics in electrochromic capacitors have almost never been achieved using tungsten oxide, because, in its pure form, this compound only displays a onefold color modulation from transparent to blue.

This paper presents the results of a study on the formation of nanostructures of electrochemical titanium oxide for neuromorphic applications. Three anodization synthesis techniques were considered to allow the formation of structures with different sizes and productivity: nanodot, lateral, and imprint. The mathematical model allowed us to calculate the processes of oxygen ion transfer to the reaction zone; the growth of the nanostructure due to the oxidation of the titanium film; and the formation of TiO, TiO, and TiO oxides in the volume of the growing nanostructure and the redistribution of oxygen vacancies and conduction channel.

This study introduces the development of a W-M electrochromic film, characterized by a "coral"-like TiO@WO heterostructure, synthesized via a hydrothermal process leveraging the inherent instability of MXene. The film showcases exceptional electrochromic performance, with a coloring response time of 2.8 s, a bleaching response time of 4.

High-k metal oxides are gradually replacing the traditional SiO dielectric layer in the new generation of electronic devices. In this paper, we report the production of five-element high entropy metal oxides (HEMOs) dielectric films by solution method and analyzed the role of each metal oxide in the system by characterizing the film properties. On this basis, we found optimal combination of (AlGaTiYZr)O with the best dielectric properties, exhibiting a low leakage current of 1.

This study introduces a novel deposition technique capable of depositing thin films with any arbitrary thickness profile. The apparatus consists of a fixed shadow mask and a rotating sample carrier plate. The shadow mask features a specifically designed opening curve that corresponds to the particular thickness profile of the deposited film.
