Pyomyositis is an uncommon primary bacterial infection of skeletal muscles, usually caused by Staphylococcus aureus. Predisposing factors for pyomyositis include immunodeficiency, trauma, injection drug use, concurrent infection and malnutrition. The diagnosis, staging of the disease and differential diagnosis are established by ultrasound, CT and MRI. Treatment involves surgical drainage and antibiotic therapy. We report a case of abdominal rectus muscle pyomyositis, which constitutes, as far as we know, the second reported in bibliography, while is firstly reported as causative agent.

Despite significant advances in endovascular techniques, open abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair continues to play an important role in vascular surgery. Many studies have described the advantages of epidural anesthesia combined with general anesthesia over general anesthesia alone as an analgesic method for open AAA repair. Several recent guidelines have recommended epidural anesthesia as the first option for pain management in open AAA repair.

A 50-year-old woman with a history of adult granulosa cell tumor (AGCT) of the right ovary was under follow-up after undergoing several surgeries, including a total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. She was initially diagnosed eight years ago and remained disease-free for 52 months. However, she later experienced a recurrence, indicated by elevated inhibin B levels (58 ng/mL) and the presence of peritoneal soft tissue tumors.

Aim: Diastasis recti is a common contour abnormality of the anterior abdominal wall, where an increased distance between the rectus abdominis muscles results in a visible or palpable bulge in this area. This study aimed to characterize this clinical entity in children.
Material And Methods: Anatomy of the rectus abdominis muscles and the linea alba, with a special focus on the interrectus distance (distance between two bellies of the rectus abdominis muscles), was studied using ultrasound.

Introduction: As research advances in vascularized composite allotransplantation (VCA), large animal models are essential for translational studies related to immune rejection and graft survival. However, procurement of large flaps can cause significant defects, complicating wound closure and increasing postoperative risks. This study details the surgical techniques and outcomes of autologous vertical rectus abdominis myocutaneous (VRAM) flap transplantation and neck flap isolation with induced ischemia in a swine model.
