Piezosurgery is a new technique that can be used to cut mineralized structures without damaging adjacent soft tissues. This device has a lot of advantages: reduced surgical time, blood loss, and inferior alveolar nerve injury in bimaxillary osteotomy. Fifty patients underwent different surgical operations (orthognathic surgery, traumatic surgery, reconstructive surgery, aesthetic procedures) with 7 different kind of piezosurgery inserts in a period of 8 months. The same two surgeons performed all the procedures. All the procedures were carried out in order to improve the precision of the osteotomy and the comfort of the surgeon. Piezoelectric devices provide an innovative ultrasonic technique for safe and effective osteotomy compared with methods that use rotating instruments. Different inserts have been developed in order to achieve the utmost advantages.

Monitoring cardiac rhythm is crucial for diagnosis of heart failure. However, the deficient sensitivity of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) sensors impede their application in monitoring of cardiac rhythm due to the limited piezoelectricity. Here, doping of CoFeO and aligning fibers were jointly adopted to enhance the piezoelectricity of PVDF, attributed to the transformation of α-PVDF to β-PVDF from 51.

Introduction: This is a double clinical trial conducted to study the patient satisfaction and comfort during and after surgical removal of impacted mandibular 3rd molar using Piezo electric tips.
Material And Methods: Two groups of 25 each [14 (56 %) males and 11 (44 %) females] and [18 (72 % males and 07 (28 %) females] represented the Rotary and Piezo groups respectively with bilateral impactions. one side of the patient is operated by piezo and the other side by rotary instrument after a gap of 2-3 week between the procedures.

Lymphedema, a severe and complex inflammatory disease caused by lymphatic system insufficiency and impeded lymphatic drainage that causes an enormous physical and psychological burden on patients and may even lead to death, has long been a challenging issue in the medical field. Clinically, conventional approaches including surgical treatment and conservative treatment have been employed for lymphedema therapy, but their curative effect is still unsatisfactory because of high operational difficulty, high cost, and long-term reliance. In this study, a novel kind of piezoelectric microneedle driven by ultrasound (US) is proposed to regulate macrophage polarization and remodel the pathological inflammatory microenvironment in a noninvasive manner, thereby promoting lymphatic regeneration and improving lymphedema.

Chitosan (CHT) is a known piezoelectric biomacromolecule; however, its usage is limited due to rapid degradation in an aqueous system. Herein, we prepared CHT film via a solvent casting method and cross-linked in an alkaline solution. Sodium hydroxide facilitated deprotonation, leading to increased intramolecular hydrogen bonding and mechanical properties.

: Third molar (wisdom tooth) extraction is one of the most common surgical procedures in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Traditional rotary instruments and burs have long been the standard tools for this procedure. However, recent advancements in surgical techniques, such as piezoelectric surgery, have gained popularity due to their purported advantages in terms of precision, safety, and postoperative outcomes.
