AI Article Synopsis

  • Erosion of vertebral bodies due to abdominal aortic aneurysms is very uncommon, complicating diagnosis.
  • Chronic ruptures can present with diverse symptoms, including back pain, sciatic pain, or a noticeable abdominal mass.
  • A case is presented involving a 49-year-old man who experienced back pain linked to a chronic ruptured aortic aneurysm, with CT scans being the preferred diagnostic method.

Article Abstract

Erosion of vertebral bodies by an abdominal aortic aneurysm is extremely rare. Chronic contained rupture can cause difficulties in diagnosis because there are many clinical presentations: back pain, sciatic pain, or an expansive abdominal mass. Computed tomography is the gold-standard diagnostic tool. We report the case of a 49-year-old man who suffered from back pain because of a chronic ruptured aortic aneurysm.
