Objective: To compare the paced QRS duration on different sites in age-, gender-, and indication-matched patients implanted with Micra leadless pacemakers and conventional transvenous pacemakers (TV-PM).

Method: A total of 82 patients from Xinhua Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University, were enrolled, including two groups of 41 patients matched according to gender, age, and pacemaker indications, who underwent Micra and TV-PM implantations, respectively. The baseline data of the patients, the pacing site described using three- and nine-partition methods, and the paced QRS duration on 12-lead electrocardiogram were then analyzed.

The increasing use of immune checkpoint inhibitors in clinical practice is associated with a broad spectrum of immune-related adverse events, such as cardiac, rheumatological and neurological toxicities. Myocarditis is a life-threatening complication, and the concurrent development of myocarditis, myositis and/or myasthenia leads to difficulties in diagnosis, management and treatment. We describe a case presenting with this triple M overlap syndrome following pembrolizumab treatment.

Background: Deep-learning applications in cardiology typically perform trivial binary classification and are able to discriminate between subjects affected or not affected by a specific cardiac disease. However, this working scenario is very different from the real one, where clinicians are required to recognize the occurrence of one cardiac disease among the several possible ones, performing a multiclass classification. The present work aims to create a new interpretable deep-learning tool able to perform a multiclass classification and, thus, discriminate among several different cardiac diseases.

Aims: Atrioventricular block (AVB) is a prevalent bradyarrhythmia. This study aims to investigate the causal effects of epigenetic aging, as inferred from DNA methylation profiles on the prevalence of AVB by Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.

Methods: Genetic instruments for epigenetic aging and AVB were obtained from genome-wide association study data in the Edinburgh DataShare and FinnGen biobanks.

Background: Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartic receptor encephalitis (Anti-NMDAR encephalitis) is the most prevalent form of autoimmune encephalitis in pediatric patients. Autonomic dysfunction is a frequent symptom of Anti-NMDAR encephalitis, yet it often goes unnoticed by pediatricians. Studies have indicated that pediatric patients with autonomic dysfunction exhibit a poorer prognosis compared to those without.
