Aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) has great potential in industrial applications of bio-separations and bio-reactions. However, its large-scale application is limited by recovery difficulty of phase systems. In this paper, a recyclable ATPS was prepared by two pH-responsive copolymers (P and P) and applied for purification of porcine circovirus type 2 Cap protein fermentation broth (PCV2 Cap protein). Phase separation mechanism was studied by using low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF-NMR). The results showed that relatively desirable ATPS were formed successfully when two copolymer concentrations were 4%-6% (w/w) with pH 7.5-8.6. The main parameters, such as copolymer concentration, temperature, pH, type and concentration of salts, were investigated. The results demonstrated that the best ATPS consisted of 4% (w/w) P and 6% (w/w) P, the optimal partition coefficient (K) and extraction recovery (ER) of PCV2 cap protein were 0.25 and 94.2% in the presence of 50 mM LiSO, 3.53 and 93.4% in the presence of 40 mM KCl, respectively, at 30 °C, pH 8.1. The maximum purity of PCV2 Cap protein was 88.4%. In addition, the two phase-forming copolymers could be recycled by adjusting solution pH to their isoelectric points (pI), with recoveries of over 97.5%.

Salivary extracellular vesicles isolation methods impact the robustness of downstream biomarkers detection.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs), crucial mediators in cell-to-cell communication, are implicated in both homeostatic and pathological processes. Their detectability in easily accessible peripheral fluids like saliva positions them as promising candidates for non-invasive biomarker discovery. However, the lack of standardized methods for salivary EVs isolation greatly limits our ability to study them.

Background: Pediatric chronic kidney disease (CKD) requires reliable biomarkers for early detection and monitoring. Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) has emerged as a potential marker due to its responsiveness to renal impairment and involvement in mineral metabolism.

Objectives: To evaluate serum NGAL levels in pediatric CKD patients and explore correlations with estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), ferritin, calcium-phosphorus (Ca*P) product, and total serum protein.

Background: Prenatal whole exome sequencing (WES) is becoming an increasingly used diagnostic tool for fetuses with structural anomalies. However, the identification of variants of uncertain significance (VUS) in clinically relevant genes can significantly complicate prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling.

Case Presentation: A fetus conceived through in vitro fertilization at the third attempt presented with polydactyly and molar tooth sign at 24 + 6 weeks of gestation.

Objective: This study aimed to observe the impact of Tthoracic paravertebral nerve blockade(TPVB) at left T7 level on the α7nAChR-dependent cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway in patients undergoing thoracoscopic lobectomy.

Methods: Scheduled thoracoscopic lung surgery patients at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from August to September 2023 were divided into two groups according to the surgical site. The experimental group underwent left T7 paravertebral nerve blockade (LTPVB group), while the control group underwent right T7 paravertebral nerve blockade (RTPVB group).
