We experimentally demonstrate a novel design of a cascaded plasmonic superlens, which can directly image subwavelength objects with magnification in the far field at visible wavelengths. The lens consists of two cascaded plasmonic slabs. One is a plasmonic metasurface used for near field coupling, and the other one is a planar plasmonic lens used for phase compensation and thus image magnification. First, we show numerical calculations about the performance of the lens. Based on these results we then describe the fabrication of both sub-structures and their combination. Finally, we demonstrate imaging performance of the lens for a subwavelength double-slit object as an example. The fabricated superlens exhibits a lateral resolution down to 180 nm at a wavelength of 640 nm, as predicted by numerical calculations. This might be the first experimental demonstration in which a planar plasmonic lens is employed for near-field image magnification. Our results could open a way for designing and fabricating novel miniaturized plasmonic superlenses in the future.

Despite substantial advances in the antitumor effects of annonaceous acetogenins (ACGs), the absence of a defined biological action mechanism remains a major barrier to their clinical application. Here, it is found that squamocin effectively depletes both EZH2 and MYC in multiple cancer cell lines, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, and gastric and colorectal cancer, demonstrating potent efficacy in suppressing these in vivo tumor models. Through the combination of surface plasmon resonance (SPR), differential scanning fluorimetry (DSF), and cellular thermal shift assay (CETSA), heat shock protein 90α (HSP90α) is identified as the direct binding target of squamocin.

This study reports the synthesis of plasmonic hot nanogap networks-in-triangular nanoframes (NITNFs), featuring narrow intraparticle nanogap networks embedded within triangular nanoframes. Starting from Au nanotriangles, Pt NITNFs are synthesized through a cascade reaction involving simultaneous Pt deposition and Au etching in a one-pot process. The Pt NITNFs are then transformed into plasmonically active Au NITNFs via Au coating.

Blue perovskite light-emitting diodes (LEDs) lag behind green and red LEDs, which have made considerable strides in efficiency and stability. The main disadvantage is its unmodulated phase domains and low energy transfer efficiency, which impede the efficiency, optical purity, and operational stability of the devices. Herein, we show that using biomolecule-derived plasmonic nanostructures can significantly promote defect passivation, van der Waals gap reduction, and cascade energy transfer through synergistic small-molecule interactions and localized surface plasmonic contributions, thereby improving the electroluminescence (EL) properties and operational stability.

Background: Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensing technology has been widely used in biometrics, but the weak detection capability and low sensitivity limit the development of SPR biosensors. In this work, we propose to employ the transition metal disulfide (TMD) material MoS to induce the SPR effect into the near-infrared band. The aim of this work is to develop a near-infrared sensor capable of quantitatively detecting the concentration of cDNA, which is able to solve the problems of low sensitivity, parameter crosstalk and so on.

In this paper, we compare and analyze the transmission spectrum when the SPR effect is excited by the cladding mode of a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) and the core mode of the no-core fiber. The results show that the SPR effect excited using the cladding mode is stronger and the sensor has better loss peaks, which is more conducive to realizing the detection of the external environment.
