Purpose Of Investigation: To explore the effect of delayed umbilical cord clamping in cesarean section on outcomes of mothers and newborns.
Materials And Methods: A total of 338 pregnant women under cesarean section were randomly divided into two groups: study group with delayed umbilical cord clamping after pulsation loss, and control group with early clamping within 60 seconds after birth.
Results: There were no significant differences in hemoglobin and hematocrit in newborn cord blood, the highest bilirubin after birth, Apgar scores at one and five minutes after birth, and in the occurrence of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia or application of phototherapy. There were significant differences in placental residual blood, the amount of postpartum bleeding, hemoglobin and hematocrit in newborn heel blood, and the rate of neonatal resuscitation after ten minutes in both groups.
Conclusion: Umbilical cord clamping should be employed after pulsation loss to avoid adverse effect of early clamping.

Premature deliveries and preterm newborns are of a special significance to obstetricians. Despite great improvement in neonatal intensive care in the last two decades, prematurity is still the leading cause of neonatal mortality and morbidity. Complications associated with premature deliveries are malpresentation, prolapse of the umbilical cord, entrapment of some parts of the fetal body, as well as severe bruising or bone fractures.

Melanoma is among the most common malignancies and has recently exhibited increased resistance to treatments, resulting in a more aggressive disease course. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) secrete cytokines both in vivo and in vitro, which regulate tumor cell signaling pathways and the tumor microenvironment, thereby influencing tumor progression. This study investigates the anti-melanogenesis effects of sheep umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (SUCMSCs) to assess their potential application in melanoma treatment.

Placentation disorders, including severe preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction, have their origins in early pregnancy, whereas symptoms typically present later on. To investigate the pathogenesis of these diseases, there is a need for a reliable in vitro model system of early placenta development with known pregnancy outcomes. Therefore, we optimized the generation of human induced trophoblast stem cells (iTSCs) from term umbilical cord, enabling non-invasive collection of patient-derived material immediately after birth.

Retinal diseases are characterized by progressive damage to retinal cells, leading to irreversible vision loss. Among these, glaucoma stands out as a multifactorial neurodegenerative disease involving elevated intraocular pressure, retinal ganglion cell apoptosis, and optic nerve damage, ultimately resulting in blindness in both humans and dogs. Stem cell-based therapies have emerged as a promising therapeutic option for such conditions due to their regenerative and neuroprotective potential.

The global issue of aging populations has become increasingly prominent, thus the research and development for anti-aging therapies to assure longevity as well as to ameliorate age-related complications is put high on the agenda. The young humoral milieu has been substantiated to impart youthful characteristics to aged cells or organs. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are a heterogeneous group of cell-derived membrane-limited structures that serve as couriers of proteins and genetic material to regulate intercellular communication.
