A practical, general, and convergent route to epoxides with control of the relative and absolute stereochemistry has been achieved by generating the reactive intermediate (the diazo compound) in situ from tosylhydrazone salts (see scheme, PTC=phase-transfer catalyst, Ts=toluene-4-sulfonyl). High yields (58-82 %), high d.r. (88:12-98:2), and high ee values (87-94 %) have been obtained using a new class of stable chiral sulfides at low catalyst loading (5 mol %) and [Rh (OAc) ] (0.5 mol %).

Energizing Robust Sulfur/Lithium Electrochemistry via Nanoscale-Asymmetric-Size Synergism.

Sluggish redox kinetics and dendrite growth perplex the fulfillment of efficient electrochemistry in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries. The complicated sulfur phase transformation and sulfur/lithium diversity kinetics necessitate an all-inclusive approach in catalyst design. Herein, a compatible mediator with nanoscale-asymmetric-size configuration by integrating Co single atoms and defective CoTe (Co-CoTe@NHCF) is elaborately developed for regulating sulfur/lithium electrochemistry synchronously.

January 2025

College of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Engineering, Huanghuai University, Zhumadian 463000, PR China. Electronic address:

FeO nanoparticles (NPs) have emerged as pioneering nanozymes with applications in clinical diagnosis, environmental protection and biosensing. However, it is currently limited by insufficient catalytic activity due to poor electron transfer. In this study, we synthesized electron-rich-Zr-doped defect-rich FeO NPs (ZrFeO) using a one-pot solvothermal method.

Hybrid nano-sized motors with navigation and self-actuation capabilities have emerged as promising nanocarriers for a wide range of delivery, sensing, and diagnostic applications due to their unique ability to achieve controllable locomotion within a complex biological environment such as tissue. However, most current nanomotors typically operate using a single driving mode, whereas propulsion induced by both external and local stimuli could be more beneficial to achieve efficient motility in a biomedical setting. In this work, we present a hybrid nanomotor by functionalizing biodegradable stomatocytes with platinum nanoparticles (Pt NPs).
