A molecular rectifier and a bioelectrocatalytic assembly for the reduction of NO is provided by reconstitution of a de novo protein with two Fe -protoporphyrin IX units. The function of the de novo protein can be tuned and tailored within the synthetic protocol.

Sodium taurocholate co-transporting polypeptide (NTCP) has been identified as an entry receptor for hepatitis B virus (HBV), but the molecular events of the viral post-endocytosis steps remain obscure. In this study, we discovered that manganese (Mn) could strongly inhibit HBV infection in NTCP-reconstituted HepG2 cells without affecting viral replication. We therefore profiled the antiviral effects of Mn2+ in an attempt to elucidate the regulatory mechanisms involved in early HBV infection.

Objectives: Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) haploinsufficiency is a rare genetic condition characterized by development of immune cytopenia, hypogammaglobulinemia, and/or lymphoproliferative disorder, as well as multiple autoimmunity. Treatment with abatacept was shown to alleviate autoimmune conditions, yet its long-lasting impact on bone marrow function remains undetermined.
Methods: We here present the case of a now 39-year-old woman with CTLA-4 haploinsufficiency with predominant CNS affection, yet multiorgan autoimmunity and lymphopenia.

The green peach aphid () is a generalist pest damaging crops and transmitting viral pathogens. Using Illumina sequencing of small (s)RNAs and poly(A)-enriched long RNAs, we analyzed aphid virome components, viral gene expression and antiviral RNA interference (RNAi) responses. Myzus persicae densovirus (family ), a single-stranded (ss)DNA virus persisting in the aphid population, produced 22 nucleotide sRNAs from both strands of the entire genome, including 5'- and 3'-inverted terminal repeats.

Introduction: Reactivation of thymopoiesis in adult patients with autoimmune disorders treated with autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) is supported by studies exploring immunoreconstitution. Radiological evidence of thymic hyperplasia after AHSCT was previously reported in patients with systemic sclerosis, but, to our knowledge, it has not been described in multiple sclerosis (MS), where premature thymic involution has been observed and immunosenescence might be accelerated by disease-modifying treatments (DMTs).
Participants And Methods: monocentric case series including MS patients who performed a chest CT scan for clinical purposes after having received AHSCT (BEAM/ATG regimen) for aggressive MS failing DMTs.
