AI Article Synopsis

  • The pH levels influence the self-condensation of the [Mo S O] complex, leading to the formation of a wheellike Mo cluster.
  • The representation of the cluster uses a ball-and-stick model to illustrate the different elements (Mo, S, O).
  • This synthetic method could potentially be adapted for different starting materials to create various polyoxothiometalates with distinct cavity structures.

Article Abstract

The pH-dependent self-condensation of the [Mo S O ] complex fragment gives the wheellike Mo cluster depicted on the right (ball-and-stick model; large balls: S, medium balls: O, small balls: Mo). Applying this synthetic strategy to other starting materials could provide access to other polyoxothiometalates with well-defined cavities.
