In line with clinical benefits observed in the diagnosis and treatment of arteriopathies, invasive methods currently introduced in a wide practice entail some negative sequelae presenting with specific complications with occasional lethal outcomes. Because the complications are so closely related to pathogenesis and outcomes of the disease, they should be thoroughly analyzed in view of their role and place in the conceptions of thanatogenesis and pathological diagnosis in which they can be introduced as the main, concurrent or competitive disease, registered as complications depending on the role in the thanatogenesis and initial status of the patient assessed both by the clinician and the pathologist before the invasive procedure.

Background: To analyze the effects of the positioning of a bolt in the femoral neck system (FNS) on the short-term outcomes of middle-aged and young adults with displaced femoral neck fractures (FNFs).
Methods: This was a retrospective study involving 114 middle-aged and young adults with displaced FNFs who were surgically treated with internal fixation via the FNS in the Department of Orthopedics, Suzhou Municipal Hospital, from December 2019 to January 2023. The degree of deviation of the central axis of the femoral head and neck from the tip of the bolt (W), the tip‒apex distance (TAD) and the length of femoral neck shortening (LFNS) were measured on postoperative X-ray and computed tomography (CT) scan images.

Chest imaging in children presents unique challenges due to varying requirements across age groups. For chest radiographs, achieving optimal images often involves careful positioning and immobilisation techniques. Antero-posterior projections are easier to obtain in younger children, while lateral decubitus radiographs are sometimes used when expiratory images are difficult to obtain and for free air exclusion.

Purpose: To assess the effect of anterior chamber depth on corneal endothelium using specular microscopy following uneventful phacoemulsification among cataract patients with different axial lengths.
Methods: The study was conducted in a quasi-experimental design including 300 eyes of 300 patients with grade three age-related nuclear cataract distributed equally based on their axial length into three equal groups. All eyes had grade three nuclear cataract.

Early detection of cognitive dysfunction in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is important for preventive measures due to the lack of effective treatments. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between enlarged perivascular space in the hippocampus (H-EPVS) and cognitive performance in patients with T2DM, and to determine whether it can serve as an imaging marker for cognitive dysfunction. 66 T2DM patients with cognitive impairment (T2DM-CI) and 71 T2DM patients with normal cognitive function (T2DM-NC) underwent cranial MRI scans and comprehensive neuropsychological assessments.

Purpose: In totally endoscopic off-pump left atrial appendage (LAA) closure and surgical ablation, securing the operative field is sometimes difficult in some patients because of a narrow working space caused by an elevated diaphragm or ventricles. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a method that facilitates securing the operative field using an artificial pneumothorax.
Methods: We analyzed 71 consecutive patients who underwent totally endoscopic off-pump LAA closure and bilateral pulmonary vein isolation.
