Data-Efficient Training of Gaussian Process Regression Models for Indoor Visible Light Positioning.

Sensors (Basel)

December 2024

South China Academy of Advanced Optoelectronics, South China Normal University, Guangzhou 510006, China.

A data-efficient training method, namely Q-AL-GPR, is proposed for visible light positioning (VLP) systems with Gaussian process regression (GPR). The proposed method employs the methodology of active learning (AL) to progressively update the effective training dataset with data of low similarity to the existing one. A detailed explanation of the principle of the proposed methods is given.

Background: Spray drying, whilst a popularly employed technique for powder formulations, has limited applications for large-scale proliposome manufacture.

Objectives: Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate spray drying parameters, such as inlet temperature (80, 120, 160, and 200 °C), airflow rate (357, 473, and 601 L/h) and pump feed rate (5, 15, and 25%), for individual carbohydrate carriers (trehalose, lactose monohydrate (LMH), and mannitol) for 24 spray-dried (SD) formulations (F1-F24).

Methods: Following optimization, the SD parameters were trialed on proliposome formulations based on the same carriers and named as spray-dried proliposome (SDP) formulations.

Pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) is the most accurate procedure for lymph node (LN) staging in prostate cancer (PCa) patients. LN sectioning and hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining of at least one slice remains the gold standard for LN evaluation, potentially leading to misdetection of small metastatic focus. Entire LN analysis is possible with One-Step Nucleic Acid Amplification (OSNA) by detecting cytokeratin 19 (CK19) mRNA as a surrogate for LN invasion.

: Sinonasal malignancies are rare and highly diverse cancers that pose significant diagnostic challenges due to their variable histological features and complex anatomical locations. Accurate diagnosis is critical for guiding treatment, yet conventional methods often require multiple biopsies. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) for real-time imaging of sinonasal tumors to characterize specific features of different entities and improve diagnostic precision.

Endoscopic spinal surgery has gained increasing popularity over the past 10 years. Its muscle-preserving nature, reduction in postoperative pain, and lower complication rates have contributed to the growing number of surgeons adopting this technique year after year. This same progression has led to the application of the technique in oncological pathology, primarily for separation surgeries and biopsies of extradural lesions.
