Hybrid potato breeding based on diploid inbred lines is transforming the way of genetic improvement of this staple food crop, which requires a deep understanding of potato domestication and differentiation. Here, we resequenced 314 diploid wild and landrace accessions to generate a variome map of 47,203,407 variants. Using the variome map, we discovered the reshaping of tuber transcriptome during potato domestication, characterized genome-wide differentiation between landrace groups Stenotomum and Phureja, and identified a jasmonic acid biosynthetic gene possibly affecting tuber dormancy period.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common malignant tumors, characterized by a high incidence and mortality rate. Macrophages, as a key immune cell type within the tumor microenvironment (TME), play a key role in tumor immune evasion and the progression of CRC. Therefore, identifying macrophage biomarkers is of great significance for predicting the prognosis of CRC patients.

To identify the differences between aged and young human hematopoiesis, we performed a direct comparison of aged and young human hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs). Alterations in transcriptome profiles upon aging between humans and mice were then compared. Human specimens consist of CD34+ cells from bone marrow, and mouse specimens of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs; Lin- Kit+ Sca1+ CD150+).

Background And Objectives: The interplay of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and infection (CDI) poses a critical clinical challenge. The resultant inflammatory milieu and its impact on outcomes remain incompletely understood, especially among vulnerable subgroups such as elderly patients, those with diabetes, and individuals with cancer. This study aimed to characterize inflammatory markers and composite inflammatory severity scores-such as Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II (APACHE II), Confusion, Urea, Respiratory rate, Blood pressure, and age ≥ 65 years (CURB-65), National Early Warning Score (NEWS), and the Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII)-in hospitalized Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients with and without CDI, and to evaluate their prognostic implications across key clinical subgroups.

Background: Spermatogenesis is a complex process of cellular differentiation that commences with the division of spermatogonia stem cells, ultimately resulting in the production of functional spermatozoa. However, a substantial gap remains in our understanding of the molecular mechanisms and key driver genes that underpin this process, particularly in invertebrates. The dwarf surfclam (Mulinia lateralis) is considered an optimal bivalve model due to its relatively short generation time and ease of breeding in laboratory settings.
