Background: Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a complex disease that negatively impacts the social and academic/occupational activities of children and is more common in boys than in girls.
Methods: This case-control study aimed to assess the association between some environmental risk factors and ADHD among children in Alexandria, Egypt. It was carried out at the outpatient clinics of El Shatby Pediatric University Hospital in Alexandria, Egypt, with 252 children (126 cases and 126 controls).

Background: DNA hypomethylation and uracil misincorporation into DNA, both of which have a very important correlation with colorectal carcinogenesis. Folate plays a crucial role in DNA synthesis, acting as a coenzyme in one-carbon metabolism, which involves the synthesis of purines, pyrimidines, and methyl groups. MTHFR, a key enzyme in folate metabolism, has been widely studied in relation to neural tube defects and hypertension, but its role in colorectal cancer remains underexplored.

Background: Long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) were once fully effective for the prevention of malaria; however, mosquitoes have developed resistance to pyrethroids, the main class of insecticides used on nets. Dual active ingredient LLINs (dual-AI LLINs) have been rolled out as an alternative to pyrethroid (PY)-only LLINs to counteract this. Understanding the minimum community usage at which these LLINs elicit an effect that also benefits non-users against malaria infection is important.

This study examined associations between food insecurity (FI) severity, anxiety symptoms, and sleep duration among young adults in food-insecure households. We hypothesized that more severe FI and higher anxiety would independently predict shorter sleep duration, and that anxiety would amplify the FI-sleep duration relationship. Analysis was conducted on a subsample (n = 96) of the EAT 2010-2018 young adult cohort.
