Background: Hodgkin lymphoma, a highly curable malignancy is currently treated with an adriamycin, bleomycin (BLM), vinblastine, and dacarbazine (ABVD) regimen. BLM-induced pulmonary toxicity (BPT) is one of the dose-limiting toxicities. Previous reports have revealed that genetic variants rs1050565, rs11077, and rs1800562 are involved in the development of BPT. These results cannot be extrapolated to the South Indian population because of their ethnic difference. This study aimed to determine the frequency of rs1050565, rs11077, and rs1800562 variants in South Indian healthy individuals and Hodgkin lymphoma cases. These frequencies were compared with 1000 genome populations' data. We also assessed if these variants modified the risk to Hodgkin lymphoma.

Material And Methods: A total of 200 healthy individuals and 101 cases with Hodgkin lymphoma were recruited for this case-control study after ethical approval. Blood samples were collected from the study participants and DNA was extracted. Genotyping of rs1050565, rs11077, and rs1800562 variants was done using real-time polymerase chain reaction. A chi-square test was used to assess the differences in genotype frequency data between cases and controls.

Results: The minor allele frequencies of rs1050565 and rs11077 were 4.3% and 39%, respectively, whereas all the individuals were wild-type for rs1800562 mutation. The frequencies significantly differed from 1000 genome data. The variants did not alter the risk for Hodgkin lymphoma.

Conclusions: We determined the frequencies of rs1050565, rs11077, and rs1800562 variants in South Indian healthy individuals, and the frequencies differed significantly from 1000 genome populations. We also found that the studied polymorphisms are not associated with Hodgkin lymphoma risk in the South Indian population.

Precise Measurement of the e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{+}D_{s}^{-} Cross Section at Center-of-Mass Energies from Threshold to 4.95 GeV.

Phys Rev Lett

Using the e^{+}e^{-} collision data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, at center-of-mass energies from the threshold to 4.95 GeV, we present precise measurements of the cross section for the process e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{+}D_{s}^{-} using a single-tag method. The resulting cross section line shape exhibits several new structures, thereby offering an input for a future coupled-channel analysis and model tests, which are critical to understand vector charmonium-like states with masses between 4 and 5 GeV.

Putting one health to the test: Operational challenges and critical reflections from the global South.

One Health

One Health as a policy framework to tackle zoonoses has gained wide-ranging validation with multiple international organizations throwing their collective might behind it. Such endorsement has convinced several governments to adopt One Health as a national strategy to address zoonoses. Although some argue that One Health is so many things that there are in fact multiple 'One Healths', others find that most international policy documents that use the One Health framing contain certain key recommendations, with intersectoral coordination and disease surveillance prominent among them.

An efficient in vitro propagation protocol has been established for a valuable medicinal plant, Salix tetrasperma using mature nodal explants. The investigation aimed to observe the influence of various combinations and concentrations of cytokinins (mT, BA, and Kn) and auxins (NAA, IAA, and IBA) on regeneration potential using the Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium. Among individual cytokinin treatments, 5.

This study aimed to elucidate the complexity of the humoral immune response in COVID-19 patients with varying disease trajectories using a SARS-CoV-2 whole proteome peptide microarray chip. The microarray, containing 5347 peptides spanning the entire SARS-CoV-2 proteome and key variants of concern, was used to analyze IgG responses in 10 severe-to-recovered, 9 nonsevere-to-severe cases, and 10 control case (5 pre-pandemic and 5 SARS-CoV-2-negative) plasma samples. We identified 1151 IgG-reactive peptides corresponding to 647 epitopes, with 207 peptides being cross-reactive across 124 epitopes.
