Unlabelled: A major challenge in community-based health promotion is implementing strategies that could realistically improve health at the population level. Population dose methodology was developed to help understand the combined impact of multiple strategies on population-level health behaviors. This paper describes one potential use of dose: as a tool for working collaboratively with communities to increase impact when planning and implementing community-level initiatives. Findings are presented from interviews conducted with 11 coordinators who used dose for planning and implementing local efforts with community coalitions. During early-stage planning, dose was used as a tool for strategic planning, and as a framework to build consensus among coalition partners. During implementation, a dose lens was used to revise strategies to increase their reach (the number of people exposed to the intervention) or strength (the relative change in behavior for each exposed person) to create population-level impact. A case study is presented, illustrating how some community coalitions and evaluators currently integrate dose into the planning and implementation of place-based healthy eating and active living strategies. Finally, a planning checklist was developed for program coordinators and evaluators.

Background: Acne is an inflammatory skin disease afflicting the majority of the world's population at some point in their lifetime, and is seen to be chronic in about 50% of cases. Acne leads to significant social withdrawal, depression, and disfiguring scars in many cases. Available treatments are characterized by high rates of relapse, dangerous side effects, and social stigma, which often leads to poor patient compliance and treatment failure.

Everolimus presents significant dosing challenges due to between- and within-patient pharmacokinetic variabilities. This study aimed to develop and validate a model-informed precision dosing strategy for everolimus in liver transplant recipients. The dosing strategy was initially developed using retrospective data, employing nonlinear mixed-effects modeling.

The chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin (DOX) has been widely used for treating solid tumors attributed to its antiproliferative effectiveness; however, its clinical use is limited due to side effects, including cardiotoxicity, myelosuppression, and drug resistance. Combining DOX with buthionine sulfoximine (BSO), a glutathione (GSH) synthesis inhibitor, showed promising results in overcoming these adverse effects, potentially reducing the required DOX dose while maintaining efficacy. The aim of the present study was to examine the effects of different concentrations of BSO and DOX, both individually and in combination, utilizing B16/F10 (murine melanoma), SNB-19 (human glioblastoma), S180 (murine sarcoma), and SVEC4-10 (murine endothelial) cell lines.

Background: The triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI) is considered to be a reliable surrogate marker of insulin resistance (IR). However, limited evidence exists regarding its association with the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD), particularly in hypertensive patients with different glucose metabolic states, including those with H-type hypertension. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between TyG-BMI and CAD severity across different glucose metabolism conditions.

Background: Dosimetric commissioning and quality assurance (QA) for linear accelerators (LINACs) present a significant challenge for clinical physicists due to the high measurement workload and stringent precision standards. This challenge is exacerbated for radiosurgery LINACs because of increased measurement uncertainty and more demanding setup accuracy for small-field beams. Optimizing physicists' effort during beam measurements while ensuring the quality of the measured data is crucial for clinical efficiency and patient safety.
