Categorization systems for tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) infection lack consistency in classifying disease severity. To evaluate the need for a standard, consensus-based categorisation system for TBEV infection across subtypes, we gathered an expert panel of clinicians and scientists with diverse expertise in TBEV infection. Consensus was sought using the Delphi technique, which consisted of 2 web-based survey questionnaires and a final, virtual, consensus-building exercise.

Wildlife species are routinely captured for translocation, general health monitoring, and research-based pursuits to guide wildlife management. Mule deer () were captured for various research projects and management actions in the Trans-Pecos and Panhandle regions of Texas from 2015 to 2019. The objective of this study was to develop hematologic and biochemical parameters for free-ranging mule deer in Texas and to develop a health monitoring system for current and future mule deer population management.

African swine fever (ASF) is a highly contagious disease of pigs caused by African swine fever virus, which poses a huge threat to the global swine industry and is therefore listed as a notifiable disease by the World Organization for Animal Health. Due to the global lack of safe and efficacious vaccines and therapeutic drugs, early diagnosis of cases, whether on-site or laboratory, are crucial for the prevention and control of ASF. Therefore, rapid and reliable diagnosis and detection have become the main means to combat ASF.
