Purpose: To determine the first line of infertility treatment for managing patients with unilateral or bilateral ovarian endometriomas.

Methods: We evaluated pregnancy outcome in patients who had received ovarian surgery for unilateral (Group U, = 47) or bilateral endometriomas (Group B, = 38) and aspiration with or without alcohol fixation for unilateral (Group u, = 37) or bilateral endometriomas (Group b, = 22). Subsequently, 64 of these women, excluding 29 dropouts, underwent assisted reproductive technology. We compared the clinical pregnancy rates of the four groups.

Results: The cumulative pregnancy rate after operation of Group B (18%) was significantly lower than that of a cyst-free control group ( = 143; 44%) and Group U (43%). Group B had fewer oocytes fertilized during ART than did Group b ( < 0.005) and fewer blastocysts available for transfer ( < 0.005). The cumulative pregnancy rate of Group B was also lower than in Group b ( = 0.052).

Conclusions: Pregnancy outcomes of Group B were not better than for Group b. Therefore, encouraging such women to move directly to ART might help avoid ovarian damage and improve their ability to achieve a pregnancy.

In the case of handwriting, previous studies suggested that musical background improves movement speed and fluency. Whether this benefit comes from the melody or is specifically related to the rhythmic cues provided by the music remains to be established.

Accurate and rapid diagnosis of traumatic brain injury (TBI) is essential for high-quality medical services. Nonetheless, the current diagnostic platform still has challenges in rapidly and accurately analysing clinical samples. Here, we prepared a highly stable, repeatable and sensitive gold-plated silver core-shell nanowire (Ag@AuNWs) for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) metabolic fingerprint diagnosis of TBI.

India's National COVID Vaccination Program recommended vaccination of children ages 6-12 years in April 2022. This study assessed vaccine acceptance among mothers to better understand potential barriers and facilitators of national acceptance of pediatric coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination. Qualitative data were collected through three focus group discussions (FGDs) with mothers who had children younger than 12 years of age; FGD-1 was composed of mothers who worked at a tertiary medical center in India, whereas FGD-2 and FGD-3 were composed of mothers who sought care at urban and rural community health centers.
