We investigated the effects of sodium and calcium chlorides on the conformation and composition of a purified Aldrich humic acid (PAHA), as well as on the adsorption of atrazine. The PAHA was treated with 1, 10, and 100 mM NaCl, CaCl, or a mixture of NaCl and CaCl (molar ratio 5:1) at pH 7.5 and 8.5. The conformation of treated PAHA was characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and spectral changes of functional groups of PAHA by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). AFM and TEM images showed an increase in the aggregation of the PAHA as salinity increased. FTIR spectra revealed that changes in the aggregation of the PAHA were principally due to the formation of bridged interactions between calcium and carboxylate groups in the PAHA. The adsorption of atrazine on > 0.45 μm PAHA decreased as salt concentrations and pH increased. This reduction of atrazine adsorption was explained by the decrease in available adsorption sites due to agglomeration of PAHA.

In this letter, we comment on a recent case report by Sun in the . The report describes the successful management of a rare complication: The unloading or detachment of a bioresorbable stent (BRS) during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in a male patient. The unloading of BRS was detected angiography and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging of the left coronary artery and left anterior descending artery.

Background: Comprehensive summaries on real-world outcomes in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)-a rare, incurable condition, are lacking. We conducted a systematic literature review to describe current survival, morbidity, and quality of life (QoL) outcomes in adult and pediatric PAH patients. We searched Medline and Embase electronic databases, clinicaltrials.

The serotonin pathway has long been proposed as a promising target for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)-a progressive and uncurable disease. We developed a highly specific inhibitor of the serotonin synthesizing enzyme tryptophan hydroxylase 1 (TPH1), TPT-001 (TPHi). In this study, the authors sought to treat severe PAH in the Sugen/hypoxia (SuHx) rat model with the oral TPHi TPT-001.

Key Laboratory of Radiopharmacokinetics for Innovative Drugs, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and Institute of Radiation Medicine, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, No. 238, Baidi Road, Tianjin, 300192, China. Electronic address:

Pharmacokinetic changes induced by radiation following radiotherapy ("RT-PK" phenomenon) are of great significance to the effectiveness and safety of chemotherapeutic agents in clinical settings. The aims of this study were to clarify the organic anion transporters (Oats) involved in the "RT-PK" phenomenon of bestatin in rats following X-ray irradiation and to elucidate its potential mechanism via vitamin D signalling. Pharmacokinetic studies, uptake assays using rat kidney slices and primary proximal tubule cells, and molecular biological studies were performed.
