Background: The aim of the study is to emphasize the role of 128 MSCT angiography in the diagnosis of congenital cyanotic heart diseases.
Material/methods: This study included sixty patients and was conducted from December 2014 to July 2016 in the Multidetector CT unit of Zagazig University hospitals. All images included axial, MPR, MIP, and VRT and were interpreted in one session. Pulmonary veins were assessed for PAPVR or TAPVR, PDA, cardiac apex and heart chambers, interatrial or interventricular septal defects, pericardium, and site and size of the great veins (IVC and SVC).
Results: This study included 60 patients. Thirty-four were boys (56.7%), and 26 were girls (43.3%). The age ranged from nine months to five years, and the mean age was 34.5 months. We found the following anomalies: tetralogy of Fallot (15 patients, 25%), tricuspid atresia (12 patients, 20%), Ebstein's anomaly (4 patients, 6.5%), pulmonic atresia or stenosis (7 patients, 11.5%), truncus arteriosus (6 patients, 10%), TGA (10 patients, 17%), and TAPVR (6 patients, 10%).
Conclusions: MDCT proved to be an important modality for decision-making in patients with congenital cyanotic heart diseases.

Prenatal sonographic diagnosis of congenital heart disease (CHD) can lead to improved morbidity and mortality. However, the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound, the sole prenatal screening tool, remains limited. Failed prenatal or early newborn detection of cyanotic CHD (CCHD) can have disastrous consequences.

Background: Dextro-transposition of the great arteries (dTGA) stands out as a prevalent cyanotic congenital heart defect (CHD), characterized by an intricate reversal in the arrangement of the major arteries. In the past, several surgical procedures have been used to treat dTGA, including the atrial switch. Although the method is no longer used, survivors of the procedure still living among us.

Background: A high percentage of patients with congenital heart diseases (CHD) reach adulthood and, over time, require heart transplantation (HTx) or combined heart-lung transplantation (HLTx). Among CHD, there are subgroups associated with a higher risk.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of HTx and HLTx in CHD patients.

Background: The purpose of this paper is to compare the efficacy of dual-phase multidetector computed tomography angiography (CTA) with transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) and cardiac catheterization angiography (CCA) in evaluation of pulmonary arteries and collateral vessels, major aortopulmonary collateral arteries (MAPCAs) in children with cyanotic congenital heart diseases.
Methods: The study was a prospective observational study where 32 pediatric patients (18 males, 14 females and age range 2-116 months) with cyanotic congenital heart diseases (CCHD) were included. All patients underwent TTE, CTA, and CCA.
