The rapid, sensitive, and accurate detection of paralytic shellfish toxins (PSTs), such as saxitoxin (STX), is critical for protecting human health due to the frequent occurrence of toxic red tides. In this work, to address the low affinity of traditional mouse monoclonal antibodies (m-mAbs), rabbit monoclonal antibodies (r-mAbs) against STX were produced by a single B-cell sorting culture and a cross-selection strategy. The r-mAbs showed 100-fold improvement in sensitivity (IC = 0.

In this study, we utilized drinking water treatment sludge (WTS) to produce adsorbents through the drying and calcination process. These adsorbents were then evaluated for their ability to remove azithromycin (AZT) from aqueous solutions. The L-500 adsorbent, derived from the calcination (at 500°C) of WTS generated under conditions of low turbidity in the drinking water treatment plant, presented an increase in the specific surface area from 70.

Nelumbo nucifera, an aquatic crop cultivated throughout Asian countries, belongs to the Nelumbonaceae family and has been widely used in traditional medicines with key pharmacological activities such as anti-viral, antipyretic, antioxidant, anti-steroid, anti-inflammatory, anti-arrhythmia, anti-obesity, and anti-aging properties. The present study aims to explore and assess the phytochemical composition, GC-MS profiling, antioxidant efficacy, and the major phytoconstituent phytol subjected to theoretical spectroscopic characterization using the DFT method. The phytochemical profiling of N.

Background: Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is a promising biomarker for brain and spinal cord disorders. Recent studies have highlighted the differences in the reliability of GFAP measurements in different biological matrices. The reason for these discrepancies is poorly understood as our knowledge of the protein's 3-dimensional conformation, proteoforms, and aggregation remains limited.

The well-known inhibitory strength of 3d metal Schiff base complexes against urease enzymes has long been acknowledged, but their untapped potential to act as ureolytic mimics of active metallobiosites remained unexplored. To break the new ground, we present pyrrolidine-based mononuclear Ni(II)-azide complex {[NiL(HL)(N)]·1.5(HO)} using the N,N,O donor ligand, namely ()-4-bromo-2-(((2-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)ethyl)imino)methyl)phenol.
