This study aimed to evaluate technical efficiency of US intensive care units and determine the effects of environmental factors on technical efficiency in providing quality of nursing care. Data were obtained from the 2014 National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Data envelopment analysis was used to estimate technical efficiency for each intensive care unit. Multilevel modeling was used to determine the effects of environmental factors on technical efficiency. Overall, Medicare Advantage penetration and hospital competition in a market did not create pressure for intensive care units to become more efficient by reducing their inputs. However, these 2 environmental factors showed positive influences on technical efficiency in intensive care units with certain levels of technical efficiency. The implications of the study results for management strategies and health policy may vary according to the levels of technical efficiency in intensive care units. Further studies are needed to examine why and how intensive care units with particular levels of technical efficiency are differently affected by certain environmental factors.

Unipolar barrier architecture is designed to enhance the photodetector's sensitivity by inducing highly asymmetrical barriers, a higher barrier for blocking majority carriers to depressing dark current, and a low minority carrier barrier without impeding the photocurrent flow through the channel. Depressed dark current without block photocurrent is highly desired for uncooled Long-wave infrared (LWIR) photodetection, which can enhance the sensitivity of the photodetector. Here, an excellent unipolar barrier photodetector based on multi-layer (ML) graphene (G) is developed, WSe, and PtSe (G-WSe-PtSe) van der Waals (vdW) heterostructure, in which extremely low dark current of 1.

Liver organoids have been increasingly adopted as a critical in vitro model to study liver development and diseases. However, the pre-vascularization of liver organoids without affecting liver parenchymal specification remains a long-lasting challenge, which is essential for their application in regenerative medicine. Here, the large-scale formation of pre-vascularized human hepatobiliary organoids (vhHBOs) is presented without affecting liver epithelial specification via a novel strategy, namely nonparenchymal cell grafting (NCG).

Sentiment analysis has become a difficult and important task in the current world. Because of several features of data, including abbreviations, length of tweet, and spelling error, there should be some other non-conventional methods to achieve the accurate results and overcome the current issue. In other words, because of those issues, conventional approaches cannot perform well and accomplish results with high efficiency.

The pathogenic oomycete Pythium insidiosum causes a fatal infectious illness known as pythiosis, impacting humans and certain animals in numerous countries in the tropics and subtropics. Delayed diagnosis is a primary factor contributing to the heightened morbidity and mortality associated with the disease. Several new serodiagnostic methods have been developed to improve the identification of pythiosis.

Plum fruit fresh weight (FW) estimation is crucial for various agricultural practices, including yield prediction, quality control, and market pricing. Traditional methods for estimating fruit weight are often destructive, time-consuming, and labor-intensive. In this study, we addressed the problem of predicting plum FW using artificial intelligence (AI) methods based on fruit dimensions.
