Recent recognition about snake bite envenomation on June, 2017 as neglected tropical disease under category-A by World Health Organization advocated again its undeniable importance. Present circumstances reasoned to work on a neglected subspecies of Naja naja, i.e., Naja naja karachiensis (N. n. karachensis) has been documented for frequent deaths in Pakistan. In this study median lethal toxic dose (LD) was determined intraperitoneally in Swiss albino mice and was found to be 2.0µg/g (2.0mg/kg) equal in potency to Naja pallida (red spitting African cobra). Total protein contents (188±0.011µg / 200µg of dry weight) were high enough (94%) to represent an arsenal of proteins. Furthermore, Tc was labeled 99.9% with venom and didn't find to alter hemolytic activity of venom in dose dependent manner at 125μg/ml (p>0.5), 250 μg/ml (p>0.1) and 500 μg/ml (p>0.1) when compared with its crude form. Present work will pave the way for proteomics study in effective production of antidote against specific species of snakes as dare demand of it has been felt since long period of time in Pakistan.

Chinese coral snakes () are highly neglected regarding their venom profiles and harm to humans, which impedes our ability to deeply understand their biological properties and explore their medicinal potential. In this study, we performed a comparative analysis to reveal the venom profiles of two Chinese coral snakes in terms of their venom yields, proteomic profiles, and immunorecognition by commercial antivenoms. The results showed that expels more venom (lyophilized venom mass) than but possesses a similar solid venom content.

Snakebite envenomings continue to represent a major public health concern in Taiwan because of the presence of various venomous snakes whose habitats intersect with human activities. This review provides a comprehensive analysis of the clinical characteristics, complications, and management strategies associated with snakebite envenomings in Taiwan. Taiwan is inhabited by six principal venomous snakes: , , , , , and , each presenting distinct clinical challenges.

GATA-3 is a master regulator of preadipocyte differentiation and function. Pharmacological or genetic targeting of GATA-3 will allow us to understand the function of GATA-3 in regulating metabolism, insulin signaling, and inflammation. Pyrrothiogatain, a novel small molecule inhibitor of GATA family proteins, has emerged as a promising tool for modulating GATA-3 activity.

Background: To evaluate breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices and their determinants among infants and young children in the United Arab Emirates using the 2021 WHO/UNICEF IYCF guidelines.
Methods: The Mother and Infant Study Cohort (MISC), is a prospective study of mothers recruited in their third gestational trimester and followed with their infants up to 18 months of age (n = 167). Data were collected at 3rd trimester, delivery, 2, 6, 12, and 18 months postpartum via questionnaires, review of medical records, anthropometric measurements, and 24-hour dietary recalls of the child's intake at 6, 12, and 18 months.

Objectives: To analyze the spatial accessibility of antivenom immunizing agents equipped hospitals in Hainan Province.
Methods: This paper analyzes the spatial accessibility of medical institutions equipped with different types of snake antivenom using network analysis and two-step mobile search method, and evaluates the service level and spatial accessibility of medical institutions equipped with different types of antivenom immunizing agents in Hainan Province from the perspectives of both supply and demand.
Results: The number of people in Hainan Province who need to spend more than 1 h to reach an antivenom, antivenom, antivenom, antivenom equipped hospital, and equipped with antivenom for all species of snakes in the country is approximately 856,000, 231,300, 3,071,000, 2,666,000 and 4,721,000 people, respectively.
