F-box and WD repeat domain-containing 7 (FBXW7), formerly known as hCdc4, hAGO Fbw7, or SEL10, plays a specific recognition function in SCF-type E3 ubiquitin ligases. FBXW7 is a well-established cancer suppressor gene that specifically controls proteasomal degradation and destruction of many key oncogenic substrates. The FBXW7 gene is frequently abnormal in human malignancies especially in gastrointestinal cancers.

Objective: It has been shown that the CYFIP2 (Cytoplasmic FMR1-interacting protein 2) gene is apoptosis p53-dependent and is associated with poor prognosis in malignant tumors such as gastric cancer and other and cervical cancer. However, the prognostic potential of CYFIP2 in pancreatic cancer remains unclear. In this work, we first explain the great potential of CYFIP2 malignant progression from a broader perspective (pan-cancer) and confirm its oncogenic value in pancreatic cancer.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) represents the most aggressive subtype of breast cancer, lacking effective targeted therapies and presenting with a poor prognosis. In this study, we utilized the epigenomic landscape, TCGA database, and clinical samples to uncover the pivotal role of HJURP in TNBC. Our investigation revealed a strong correlation between elevated HJURP expression and unfavorable prognosis, metastatic progression, and late-stage of breast cancer.

Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) have emerged as a potential alternative to traditional smoking and may aid in tobacco harm reduction and smoking cessation. E-cigarette use has notably increased, especially among young non-tobacco users, raising concerns due to the unknown long-term health effects. The oral cavity is the first and one of the most crucial anatomical sites for the deposition of e-cigarette aerosols.

Center of High Altitude Medicine and Institutes for Systems Genetics, Frontiers Science Center for Disease-related Molecular Network, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China.

Furan (C₄H₄O), an unintended hazardous compound, is formed in various thermally processed foods through multiple pathways, raising concerns due to its potential carcinogenicity in humans. The aim of this comprehensive review was to synthesize and evaluate the latest research on furan, from its formation by different precursors to its presence in diverse food matrices, as well as the emerging methods for its detection and mitigation. Emphasizing the toxicity of furan, it explored evidence from in vitro and in vivo studies, including reproductive toxicity, carcinogenic effects, and related biomarkers.
