In this paper we study the shape characteristics of star-like polymers in various solvent quality using a mesoscopic level of modeling. The dissipative particle dynamics simulations are performed for the homogeneous and four different heterogeneous star polymers with the same molecular weight. We analyse the gyration radius and asphericity at the poor, good and θ-solvent regimes. Detailed explanation based on interplay between enthalpic and entropic contributions to the free energy and analyses on of the asphericity of individual branches are provided to explain the increase of the apsphericity in θ-solvent regime.

Several mechanisms were postulated to reduce drilling problems, improve hole cleaning characteristics, and keep the bit in good condition for the second usage. This study was conducted on Majnoon Field in southeastern Iraq to optimize the bit and drilling parameters. The results indicated that the 16" SFD75D bit proved the preferred bit for both vertical and deviated wells due to its directional capabilities.

Hydroxyapatite (HA) is an important constituent of natural bone. The properties of HA can be enhanced with the help of various ionic substitutions in the crystal lattice of HA. Iron (Fe) is a vital element present in bones and teeth.

Waste printed circuit boards (WPCBs) are a significant component of electronic waste (e-waste) and are among the fastest-generating waste flows. The potentially negative impacts caused by e-waste on the environment and human health pose an increasingly apparent threat to people's everyday lives and well-being. The nonmetallic fraction (predominantly carbon) of WPCBs is characterized by heavy weight, low resource value, and complex composition, and these characteristics significantly restrict the recycling of the WPCBs to achieve a circular economy.

Chronic pain, as a barometer of population health, remains understudied from a socio-structural lens. This study adopts a life course perspective and integrates hukou as a potential institutional arrangement shaping pain, aiming to advance the understanding of health inequalities in China. Specifically, we examine urban-rural disparities in pain prevalence and investigate how these disparities evolve across the life course by using generalized estimating equations and the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study 2011-2020 (N = 16479).

Objective: We conducted a systematic scoping review to characterize the landscape of communication scholarship within racial health equity in and through the patient-provider interaction.
Methods: We employed three waves of data collection to identify relevant articles (N = 454) about racial equity within provider-patient interactions. We iteratively developed a codebook concerning article characteristics, coding for journal names, data source, descriptive characteristics for the study samples, and presence of theory and equity in sections of the manuscripts.
