Objectives: To develop and establish norms of Arabic Words in Noise test in Egyptian children.
Method: Total number of participants was 152 with normal hearing and ranging in age from 5 to 12 years. They are subdivided into two main groups (standardization group) which comprised 120 children with normal scholastic achievement and (application group) which comprised 32 children with different types of central auditory processing disorders. Arabic version of both Speech perception in noise (SPIN) and Words in Noise (WIN) tests were presented in each ear at zero signal to-noise ratio (SNR) using ipsilateral Cafeteria noise fixed at 50 dB sensation level (dBSL).
Results: The least performance in WIN test occurred between 5 and 7 years and highest scores from 9 to 12 years. However, no statistically significant difference was found among the three standardization age groups. Moreover, no statistically significant difference was found between the right and left ears scores or among the three lists. When the WIN test was compared to SPIN test in children with and without abnormal SPIN scores it showed highly consistent results except in children suffering from memory deficit reflecting that WIN test is more accurate than SPIN in this group of children.
Conclusions: The Arabic WIN test can be used in children as young as 5 years. Also, it can be a good cross check test with SPIN test or used to follow up children after rehabilitation program in hearing impaired children or follow up after central auditory remediation of children with selective auditory attention deficit.

Objective: Obesity is a disease with severe health impacts on individuals and economic impacts on society, yet healthcare practitioners (HCPs) and policy makers often fail to address it. This survey was conducted to examine current global obesity care and perceptions influencing care delivery among HCPs and healthcare decision makers (HC DMs).
Methods: A survey with a cross-sectional design was conducted among 1200 HCPs (primary care providers, endocrinologists, cardiologists, and nurses) and 414 HC DMs from eight countries across five continents.

Objective: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a high-risk procedure with significant morbidity and mortality and there is an uncertain volume-outcome relationship, especially regarding long-term functional outcomes. The aim of this study was to examine the association between ECMO centre volume and long-term death and disability outcomes.
Design Setting And Participants: This is a registry-embedded observational cohort study.

Cannabinoid receptor-1 (CB1R) signaling in the dorsal striatum regulates the shift from flexible to habitual behavior in instrumental outcome devaluation. Based on prior work establishing individual, sex, and experience-dependent differences in Pavlovian behaviors, we predicted a role for dorsomedial striatum (DMS) CB1R signaling in driving rigid responding in Pavlovian autoshaping and outcome devaluation. We trained male and female Long Evans rats in Pavlovian Lever Autoshaping (PLA).

Black rice bran (BRB), a valuable byproduct from the rice milling process, possesses numerous pharmacological activities, including antioxidant potential, but information regarding highly efficient extraction methods is scarce. To enhance the extraction efficiency, ultrasonic-assisted extraction coupled with Box-Behnken design (BBD) was used in this study to maximize the total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), total anthocyanin content (TAC), and antioxidant capacity of BRB extract. The BBD results showed that 57% ethanol at 50°C and pH 3.

Objective: To assess the association of systolic and diastolic blood pressure (SBP and DBP) in recently menopausal women with white matter hyperintensity (WMH) volume later in life and determine whether short-term menopausal hormone therapy (mHT) modifies these associations.
Methods: Kronos Early Estrogen Prevention Study (KEEPS) was a multicenter, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled 4-year mHT trial (oral conjugated equine estrogens or transdermal 17β-estradiol). KEEPS continuation was an observational follow-up of the participants 10 years after the end of mHT.
