We report two techniques to mitigate stripe artifacts in light-sheet fluorescence imaging. The first uses an image processing algorithm called the multidirectional stripe remover method to filter stripes from an existing image. The second uses an elliptical holographic diffuser with strong scattering anisotropy to prevent stripe formation during image acquisition. These techniques facilitate accurate interpretation of image data, especially in denser samples. They are also facile and cost-effective.

Objective: To propose a dual-domain CBCT reconstruction framework (DualSFR-Net) based on generative projection interpolation to reduce artifacts in sparse-view cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) reconstruction.
Methods: The proposed method DualSFR-Net consists of a generative projection interpolation module, a domain transformation module, and an image restoration module. The generative projection interpolation module includes a sparse projection interpolation network (SPINet) based on a generative adversarial network and a full-view projection restoration network (FPRNet).

Understanding historical chemical usage is crucial for assessing current and past impacts on human health and the environment and for informing future regulatory decisions. However, past monitoring data are often limited in scope and number of chemicals, while suitable sample types are not always available for remeasurement. Data-driven cheminformatics methods for patent and literature data offer several opportunities to fill this gap.

In this article, we propose a post-processing scheme for the novel volumetric microscopy technique SILMAS. We demonstrate this scheme on data from an alpha-synuclein transgenic mouse brain. By combining structured illumination and axial sweeping, a SILMAS measurement provides a prerequisite for quantitative data extraction through improved contrast and optical sectioning.
