Introduction: As disasters may occur any time, health care staff and institutions should be prepared to manage these events. The aim of study is to analyze the effects of high-fidelity simulation on the perceptions of senior nursing students regarding their preparedness for disasters.
Methods: This study used a pretest-posttest design and was conducted as a quasi-experimental investigation.
Results: Slightly less than the half of the students (42.5%) expressed that they were prepared to face a disaster. There was a statistically significant difference in their scores on the Scale of Perception of Disaster Preparedness among Nurses between the pre-intervention and postdisaster stage (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: Supporting simulation activities with drills positively affected nurses' perceptions of disasters.

Purpose: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common chronic cardiac arrhythmia that increases the risk of stroke, primarily due to thrombus formation in the left atrial appendage (LAA). Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) devices offer an alternative to oral anticoagulation for stroke prevention. However, the complex and variable anatomy of the LAA presents significant challenges to device design and deployment.

Microscopic cell segmentation typically requires complex imaging, staining, and computational steps to achieve acceptable consistency. Here, we describe a protocol for the high-fidelity segmentation of the nucleus and cytoplasm in cell culture and apply it to monitor interferon-induced signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) signaling. We provide guidelines for sample preparation, image acquisition, and segmentation.

The advancement of neural radiance fields (NeRFs) has facilitated the high-quality 3D reconstruction of complex scenes. However, for most NeRFs, reconstructing 3D tissues from endoscopy images poses significant challenges due to the occlusion of soft tissue regions by invalid pixels, deformations in soft tissue, and poor image quality, which severely limits their application in endoscopic scenarios. To address the above issues, we propose a novel framework to reconstruct high-fidelity soft tissue scenes from low-quality endoscopic images.

: Developing ex vivo models that replicate immune-tumor interactions with high fidelity is essential for advancing immunotherapy research, as traditional two-dimensional in vitro systems often lack the complexity required to fully represent these interactions. : In this study, we establish a comprehensive 3D redirect lysis (3D-RDL) assay using colorectal cancer spheroids and adult stem cell-derived, healthy human organoids to evaluate the efficacy and safety profile of , a bispecific antibody targeting carcinoembryonic antigens (CEAs) on cancer cells and CD3 on T cells. This model allows us to assess cytotoxic activity and immune responses, capturing variations in therapeutic response not observable in simpler systems.

Access to synthetic oligonucleotides is crucial for applications in diagnostics, therapeutics, synthetic biology, and nanotechnology. Traditional solid phase synthesis is limited by sequence length and complexities, low yields, high costs and poor sustainability. Similarly, polymerase-based approaches such as in vitro transcription and primer extension reactions do not permit any control on the positioning of modifications and display poor substrate tolerance.
