We introduce a unifying and generalizing framework for complex and detailed balanced steady states in chemical reaction network theory. To this end, we generalize the graph commonly used to represent a reaction network. Specifically, we introduce a graph, called a reaction graph, that has one edge for each reaction but potentially multiple nodes for each complex. A special class of steady states, called node balanced steady states, is naturally associated with such a reaction graph. We show that complex and detailed balanced steady states are special cases of node balanced steady states by choosing appropriate reaction graphs. Further, we show that node balanced steady states have properties analogous to complex balanced steady states, such as uniqueness and asymptotic stability in each stoichiometric compatibility class. Moreover, we associate an integer, called the deficiency, to a reaction graph that gives the number of independent relations in the reaction rate constants that need to be satisfied for a positive node balanced steady state to exist. The set of reaction graphs (modulo isomorphism) is equipped with a partial order that has the complex balanced reaction graph as minimal element. We relate this order to the deficiency and to the set of reaction rate constants for which a positive node balanced steady state exists.

Background: Motion complexity is necessary for adapting to external changes, but little is known about trunk motion complexity during seated perturbation in individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI). We aimed to investigate changes following SCI in trunk segmental motion complexity across different perturbation directions and how they affect postural control ability in individuals with SCI.
Methods: A total of 17 individuals with SCI and 18 healthy controls participated in challenging sagittal-seated perturbations with hand protection.

Prokaryotes (Bacteria and Archaea) encode a highly diversified arsenal of defence systems that protect them against mobile genetic elements, such as phages and plasmids. In turn, mobile genetic elements encode anti-defence systems that allow them to escape the activity of these defence systems. This has resulted in an evolutionary arms race in which defence systems and anti-defence systems evolve and adapt continuously, driving intriguing innovation and enormous diversification on both sides.

The circadian system is composed by a central hypothalamic clock at the suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN) that communicates with peripheral circadian oscillators for daily coordination of behavior and physiology. The SCN entrain to the environmental 24-h light-dark (LD) cycle and drive daily rhythms of internal synchronizers such as core body temperature, hypothalamic-hypophysary hormones, sympathetic/parasympathetic activity, as well as behavioral and feeding-fasting rhythms, which supply signals setting core molecular clocks at central and peripheral tissues. Steady phase relationships between the SCN and peripheral oscillators keep homeostatic processes such as microbiota/microbiome composition/activity, metabolic supply/demand, energy balance, immunoinflammatory process, sleep amount and quality, psychophysiological stress, etc.

Transitioning to a power system heavily reliant on renewable wind energy involves more than just replacing conventional fossil-fuel-based power plant with wind farms, the wind energy must be able to meet the requirement of voltage establishment and power balance. It is believed that the self synchronized voltage source control of DFIG wind turbine generator is one of the possible solutions to realize virtual inertia and is helpful to increase the frequency stability of power system, thus is meaningful in the transformation of the power system dominated by renewable energy. Plenty of research has been conducted on the self synchronized voltage source control strategy in steady state, but few research is focused on the soft grid integration, which is a complicated process involving wind turbine control and power converter control.

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are imperative to a huge range of packages, along with environmental monitoring, healthcare structures, army surveillance, and smart infrastructure, however they're faced with numerous demanding situations that impede their functionality, including confined strength sources, routing inefficiencies, security vulnerabilities, excessive latency, and the important requirement to keep Quality of Service (QoS). Conventional strategies generally goal particular troubles, like strength optimization or improving QoS, frequently failing to provide a holistic answer that effectively balances more than one crucial elements concurrently. To deal with those challenges, we advocate a novel routing framework that is both steady and power-efficient, leveraging an Improved Type-2 Fuzzy Logic System (IT2FLS) optimized by means of the Reptile Search Algorithm (RSA).
