Transition metal complexes bearing terminal oxido ligands are quite common, yet group 11 terminal oxo complexes remain elusive. Here we show that excited coinage metal atoms M (M = Au, Ag, Cu) react with OF to form hypofluorites FOMF and group 11 oxygen metal fluorides OMF, OAuF and OAgF. These compounds have been characterized by IR matrix-isolation spectroscopy in conjunction with state-of-the-art quantum-chemical calculations. The oxygen fluorides are formed by photolysis of the initially prepared hypofluorites. The linear molecules OAgF and OAuF have a Σ ground state with a biradical character. Two unpaired electrons are located mainly at the oxygen ligand in antibonding O-M π* orbitals. For the B ground state of the OMF compounds only an O-M single bond arises and a significant spin-density contribution was found at the oxygen atom as well.

Introduction: Patients with cerebral hemorrhage often require a tracheal intubation to protect the airway and maintain oxygenation. Due to the use of analgesic and sedative drugs during endotracheal intubation and the opening of the glottis may easily cause aspiration pneumonia. Ceftriaxone is a semi-synthetic third-generation cephalosporin with strong antimicrobial activity against most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Unlabelled: Acute lower respiratory infections (ALRI) are the main cause of hospitalization during the winter season. High-flow nasal catheter (HFNC) has been established as part of the treatment of these infections.
Objective: To characterize the population of children with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure treated with HFNC and to determine the predictors of failure of this therapy.

Modern-day applications demand onboard electricity generation that can be achieved using piezoelectric phenomena. Reducing the dimensionality of materials is a pathway to enhancing the piezoelectric properties. Transition-metal dichalcogenides have been shown to exhibit high piezoelectricity.

Background: Increasing life expectancy has led to a rise in nursing home admissions, a context in which older adults often experience chronic physical and mental health conditions, chronic pain, and reduced well-being. Nonpharmacological approaches are especially important for managing older adults' chronic pain, mental health conditions (such as anxiety and depression), and overall well-being, including sensory stimulation (SS) and therapist support (TS). However, the combined effects of SS and TS have not been investigated.

Purpose: Comorbid insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea (COMISA) present significant clinical challenges, given their overlapping symptoms and detrimental effects on health. Only a few studies have explored sex differences in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and COMISA. This retrospective study investigated sex differences in psychiatric symptoms and polysomnographic findings between patients with COMISA and those with OSA alone.
