The amount of calcium in the body changes with age. According to the Dietary Reference Intakes for Japanese(2015), the required amount of calcium is calculated by a factor addition method in consideration of the amount of calcium accumulated in the body, the amount excreted in urine, and percutaneous losses. At that time, the calcium absorption rate becomes a very important factor. Numerical values are set so as to increase the amount of calcium in the body during the growth phase in order to maintain the calcium content in the body after adulthood. Based on the available evidence, the calcium intake level of Japanese is low and needs to be increased.

Background: Geographic stent-ostium mismatch is an important predictor of target lesion failure after percutaneous coronary intervention of an aorto-ostial right coronary artery lesion. Optimal visualization of the aorto-ostial plane is crucial for precise stent implantation at the level of the ostium. This study investigates whether preprocedural 3-dimensional computed tomography (3DCT), with determination of the optimal viewing angle, would allow for more precise stent implantation and reduce procedure time, contrast, and radiation dose.

The amount of colloidal calcium phosphate (CCP) complex associated with caseins (insoluble [INSOL] Ca) determines the body, texture, flavor, and breakdown of cheese constituents during aging. The continuous pH decline during cheesemaking because of lactic acid fermentation results in solubilization of INSOL Ca. Measuring INSOL Ca in such a dynamic and wide range pH system (6.

Antibiotic organic pollutants not only pose a significant threat to human health but also generate a large amount of carbon dioxide (CO) during the treatment process of advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). Herein, the antibiotics aqueous solution was firstly degraded and mineralized by light-assisted peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation over hollow manganese dioxide (MnO) catalyst and then the corresponding released CO was effectively captured by calcium oxide (CaO) particles in the same sealed reactor, achieving wastewater treatment with zero carbon releasing. Under simulated light conditions, hollow MnO is excited to generate electron-hole pairs.

Soil mineral properties significantly influence the mobility of Cd(II) within the soil matrix. However, the limited understanding of how microbial metabolism affects mineral structure at the microscale poses challenges for in situ remediation. Here, we designed a model calcium-phosphate system in a urea-rich environment to explore the impact of different microbial activation levels on Cd(II) fixation at mineral interfaces.
