Background: Rising antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an acute public health emergency impeding the clinical efficacy of surgical interventions. Biliary stent placement is one of the routine surgical procedures that rarely lead to infections that are empirically managed by broad-spectrum β-lactams and fluoroquinolones. Critical priority pathogens, such as carbapenem-resistant Escherichia coli challenge treatment outcomes and infection prevention.

Colistin- and carbapenem-resistant (ColR CrKp) cause important health problems in pediatric intensive care units (PICUs) due to its ability to harbor multiple resistance genes and spread of high-risk clones. In this study, molecular epidemiological characteristics, transferable resistance genes, and alterations of ColR CrKp isolated from PICU were investigated. Isolates were identified by MALDI-TOF MS, and antimicrobial susceptibility tests were performed using disk diffusion method, gradient strip test, and broth microdilution method.

Antimicrobial-resistant bacterial contamination of meat poses a significant global public health risk. We aimed to determine antimicrobial resistance profiles and trends of recovered from carcasses of healthy food-producing animals in South Korea during 2010-2023. In total, 4748 isolates obtained from cattle ( = 1582), pigs ( = 1572), and chickens ( = 1594) were assessed for susceptibility to 12 antimicrobials.

Ceftazidime-avibactam (CZA) is currently one of the last resorts used to treat infections caused by carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. However, KPC variants have become the main mechanism mediating CZA resistance in KPC-producing gram-negative bacteria after increasing the application of CZA. Our previous study revealed that CZA-resistant KPC-33 had emerged in carbapenem-resistant P.

Bovine respiratory disease (BRD) develops from complex interactions among environmental, host and pathogenic factors. This study aimed to phenotypically identify isolated from cattle with BRD and assess antimicrobial susceptibility and determining the molecular phylogeny of local strains. Between November 2023 and March 2024, nasal swabs were collected from 93 cattle with BRD, before culturing for phenotypic analysis, and performing the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for molecular characterisation.
