A novel silver-mediated oxidative decarboxylative intramolecular asymmetric radical cyclization has been developed to form a C-C bond via memory of chirality. The application of the process has been demonstrated for the synthesis of the circumdatin class of alkaloids in high enantiopurity with retention of the configuration. The developed protocol is mild and works with an inexpensive silver catalyst in the absence of ligand, base, or additives. The involvement of a monoradical in the reaction has been established by trapping the radical intermediate.

Silver ions (Ag) are crucial in various fields, but pose environmental and health risks at high concentrations. This study presents a straightforward approach for the ultra-trace detection of Ag, utilizing a composite of a cytosine-rich oligonucleotide (CRO) and an electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ERGO). Initially, ERGO was synthesized on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) through the reduction of graphene oxide (GO) via cyclic voltammetry.

Here, we report a silver-mediated coupling of acetylenes with sulfoximines to synthesize -α-ketoacyl sulfoximines and -α,β-unsaturated acyl sulfoximines. The reactions are performed under an open atmosphere using the oxidant KSO and the ligand 2,2-bipyridyl. However, the fate of the product formation is controlled by the type of substrate used.

Highly reactive organometallic nanoclusters generated in metal-catalyzed reactions are pivotal in the comprehension of catalytic mechanisms. Herein, we develop a two-step synthetic method to achieve three unprecedented aryl dicarbanion-bonded Ag nanoclusters by using protective macrocyclic ligands. Firstly, various aryl dicarbanion-Ag cluster intermediates are acquired a silver-mediated annulation reaction within a macrocyclic ligand.

A direct and regioselective C-H/P-H cross-coupling of dialkyl phosphites, and diphenylphosphine oxide to easily available BODIPYs through an Ag-mediated radical addition, resulted in a series of new α-phosphorylated BODIPY fluorophores under mild conditions. Hydrolysis of the phosphonate gave the corresponding BODIPY phosphoric acid, which is soluble and fluorescent in water with a high quantum yield of 0.83.

An efficient silver-mediated oxidative trifluoromethylthiolation of unsaturated carboxylic acids to construct trifluoromethylthiol-containing lactones has been disclosed. In this protocol no metal-catalysts was added, and preliminary mechanism investigations suggested that a free-radical pathway should be involved in the process. High functional group tolerance and excellent yields were demonstrated by the efficient preparation of a wide range of γ-trifluoromethylthiolated phthalides.
