Purpose: To describe the incidence and mortality of upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) from 2002-2020 using data from the Korean National Health Insurance Service, which contains data from the entire Korean population.
Materials And Methods: Reimbursement records for 43,255 patients diagnosed with primary UTUC (according to the International Classification of Disease 10th revision code C65 and C66) between 2002-2020 were retrieved. The study period was split into four: period I (2002-2005), period II (2006-2010), period III (2011-2015), and period IV (2016-2020).

Background: The efficacy of the laparoscopic approach for total gastrectomy(TG) in Western countries remains under discussion. Recently, Textbook Outcome(TO) has gained recognition as a comprehensive measure of care quality in upper gastrointestinal surgery. Although predictive factors for TO after TG are well-documented, the influence of the surgical approach requires further analysis.

A primary pull-through for Hirschsprung's disease (HD) requires confirmation of normal ganglionic bowel by intraoperative biopsies to determine the level of resection. Despite this, aganglionic bowel that is not fully resected (so-called "transition zone pull-throughs") is reported in 15%-19% of patients. We hypothesize that this may result from insufficient biopsies sent for intraoperative diagnosis.

Background: Laparoscopic gastrectomy lacks hand-direct tactile sense and has a limited surgical field compared to laparotomy. Apart from textbook classification, there are anatomical variations in the gastric arteries. Laparoscopic gastrectomy presents technical difficulties and necessitates a more comprehensive comprehension of regional anatomy than open surgical procedures.
