Purpose: To report a case of corneoscleral juvenile xanthogranuloma (JXG) with progressive anterior segment involvement refractory to topical steroids.
Observations: A 4-month-old male was referred for a new-onset subconjunctival lesion in the right eye. He was found to have a thickened, yellow corneoscleral lesion and hyphema, presumed to be ocular JXG.

This prospective cohort study is aimed to investigate circadian variations in corneal parameters, focusing on sleep-deprived subjects. Sixty-four healthy individuals (age range: 21-76 years) actively participated in this study, undergoing examinations at least five times within a 24-hour timeframe. The analysis encompassed keratometric parameters of the cornea's front (F) and back (B) surfaces, refractive power in flattest and steepest axes (K1, K2), astigmatism (Astig) and its axis (Axis), aspheric coefficient (Asph), corneal pachymetry values of thinnest corneal thickness (Pachy Min) and corneal thickness in the center of the pupil (Pachy Pupil), volume relative to the 3 and 10 mm corneal diagonal (Vol D3, Vol D10) and surface variance index (ISV).

Background: Anterior segment dysgenesis (ASD) encompasses a range of congenital disorders affecting the development of the eye's anterior segment, often leading to significant visual impairment and glaucoma. Although numerous studies have focused on the genetic basis of ASD, few have comprehensively compared the clinical features across ASD subtypes. This study aims to address this gap by describing and comparing the clinical characteristics and ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) imaging features of various ASD subtypes in a Chinese tertiary medical center.

The authors report a case of nontraumatic orbital subperiosteal hematoma after general anesthesia with patient in the prone position. The patient, who was on aspirin, clopidogrel, and subcutaneous heparin, presented immediately after sacral ulcer debridement with acute bilateral vision loss and periorbital edema. While the OD improved with conservative management, the OS continued to have 20/200 vision, decreased color vision, afferent pupillary defect, and extraocular movement limitation after lateral canthotomy and cantholysis.

Scopolamine, widely regarded as the gold standard in preclinical studies of memory impairments, acts as a non-selective antagonist of central and peripheral muscarinic receptors. While its application in modeling dementia primarily involves antagonism at the M receptor, its non-selective peripheral actions may introduce adverse effects that influence behavioral test outcomes. This review analyzes preclinical findings to consolidate knowledge on scopolamine's use and elucidate potential mechanisms responsible for its amnestic effects.
