Hematologic complications are common in pregnancy and can significantly impact both maternal and fetal health. Recognizing and treating these complications can be challenging due to the limited evidence available to guide clinical consultants. Iron deficiency anemia is the most prevalent hematologic issue in pregnancy and often occurs due to increased maternal blood volume and the nutritional demands of the growing fetus.

We describe the phenotypic and genotypic spectrum of patients with vascular anomaly (VA) in a paediatric multi-disciplinary VA clinic. We measured the clinical utility of genotyping by comparing pre and posttest diagnosis and management. A 46-month retrospective analysis occurred for 250 patients offered genetic testing in the VA clinic.

Hemophilia B is a genetic disorder characterized by clotting factor IX deficiency and bleeding in joints and muscles. Current treatments involve intravenous infusion of plasma-derived products or recombinant proteins, which have limited efficacy due to the short half-life of infused proteins. Recently, gene therapy for bleeding disorders has offered a potential solution.
