A comparative analysis of hair evidence recovered from the crime scene and the hair of suspects or victims is common in the forensic scenario. However, its evidentiary value increases with cosmetic applications like gel, wax, spray, or other hair treatments. Therefore, after extracting these products from hair strands, they can link the victim and accused to the crime scene and with each other, serving as corroborative evidence.

Diabetic foot ulcers/chronic wounds are difficult to treat because of dysfunctional macrophage response and decreased phenotype transition from the M1 to M2 status. This causes severe inflammation, less angiogenesis, microbial infections, and small deformation in wound beds, affecting the healing process. The commercial wound dressing material has limited efficacy, poor mechanical strength, extra pain, and new granulated tissue formed in a mesh of gauze.

Alopecia areata is the second most common form of hair loss in humans after androgenetic alopecia. Although a variety of animal models for alopecia areata have been described, currently the C3H/HeJ mouse model is the most commonly used and accepted. Spontaneous hair loss occurs in 15%-25% of older mice in which the lesions wax and wane, similar to the human disease, with alopecia being more common and severe in female mice.
