Background: Trachoma, a neglected tropical disease, remains a significant public health concern in many regions, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and in Yobe State, Nigeria. One approach for elimination involves administering tetracycline eye ointment (TEO) to children <6 months of age as part of annual mass drug administration (MDA), aligning with the World Health Organization's 'A' component of the SAFE (Surgery, Antibiotics, Facial hygiene and Environmental sanitation) strategy for elimination of trachoma as a public health problem. However, suboptimal compliance rates in affected populations pose challenges, potentially serving as a reservoir for reinfection and hindering progress toward trachoma elimination.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to describe the prolene suture-assisted cystoscopic removal of double J ureteral stents in infants and summarize the safety, operability, and effectiveness of this approach.
Methods: The clinic data of patients who underwent double J ureteral stent removal by prolene suture-assisted cystoscopy were reviewed. The operation procedure was as follows: First, a folded 4-0 prolene suture was preset into the cystoscope sheath, and the telescope was placed.
Management of type 1 diabetes is constantly evolving. Hybrid closed loop technology is replacing multiple dose insulin and continuous subcutaneous insulin infusions as the preferred manner for managing type 1 diabetes in the community. Currently, there are no case reports or clinical guidelines to instruct practitioners on the safe peri-operative use of hybrid closed loop technology for patients requiring emergency surgery.

Background: This monocentric, randomized controlled trial aims to compare the outcomes of kidney transplant recipients with magnetic double-J (DJ) stents versus conventional DJ stents. Specifically, we assessed stent-related symptoms, procedural difficulties, pain and duration of removal, and associated costs.
Methods: A total of 30 patients were randomly assigned to receive either a magnetic DJ (mDJ) stent or a conventional, standard DJ (sDJ) stent during kidney transplantation using the Lich-Gregoir technique.

Introduction: Laser refractive surgeries are a safe option for low-to-moderate refractive corrections, providing excellent visual outcomes. Over the years, various procedures have been introduced into clinical practice, but the most performed today remain Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK), Laser Keratomileusis (LASIK), and Small Incision Lenticule Extraction (SMILE). Although laser refractive treatments are considered safe, clinicians have focused on the risk of post-surgical ectasia, a rare but serious complication.
