One of the most attractive features of perovskite materials is their chemical flexibility. Due to innovative chemical compositions of perovskites, their optical and structural properties, and functionalities have become more advanced, enabling better solar performance in photovoltaics, as well as robustness and excellent properties in the nanoscale for optoelectronics. The quest for novel perovskite compositions in the nano-scale is significantly important. This paper reports on a mixed-cation system of RbxCs1-xPbX3 (where X = Cl or Br) nanoparticles. The absorption of the nanoparticles is tunable in the near ultra-violet and visible regions between ∼395-525 nm for RbxCs1-xPbX3 (x = 0 to x = 0.8 and X = Cl or Br). The photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQY) of the mixed Rb+/Cs+ nanoparticle systems are comparable to the PLQY of CsPbX3 nanoparticles. Interestingly an attempt to synthesize Cl- and Br-based nanoparticles with high Rb+ content was successful, although possessing low tolerance factors. We conclude that these mixed Rb+/Cs+ nanoparticles are more adjustable to structural distortions caused by cation substitutions than their bulk counterparts, which opens a way towards the development of more advanced mixed-ion perovskite compositions in the nano-scale.

Collective optical properties can emerge from an ordered ensemble of emitters due to interactions between the individual units. Superlattices of halide perovskite nanocrystals exhibit collective light emission, influenced by dipole-dipole interactions between simultaneously excited nanocrystals. This coupling changes both the emission energy and rate compared to the emission of uncoupled nanocrystals.

Perovskite-structured materials are used as gas-sensitive materials due to their wide bandgap and controllable morphology, but large initial resistance and low response limit their development. In this work, ZnSn(OH)/ZnO composites derived from ZnO were synthesized by hydrothermal method. The gas-sensitive results show that all sensors show significantly improved response to NO under UV irradiation compared with without UV irradiation.

Tuning the selectivity and improving the activity of photocatalysts are among the main bottlenecks for the conversion of CO to value-added chemicals. Recently, lead-free halide perovskites have been extensively investigated as photocatalysts for the photoreduction of CO. Herein, we report a composite photocatalyst using CsBiCl and Ir/IrO for the photoreduction of CO.

The performance of narrow-bandgap (NBG) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is limited by the severe nonradiative recombination and carrier transport barrier at the electron selective interface. Here, we reveal the importance of the molecular orientation for effective defect passivation and protection for Sn at the perovskite/C interface. We constructed an internally self-anchored dual-passivation (ISADP) layer, where the orientation of PCBM can be significantly enhanced by the interaction between ammonium and carbonyl groups.

Inorganic lead-free metal halide perovskites have garnered much attention as low-toxicity alternatives to lead halide perovskites for luminescence and photovoltaic applications. However, the electronic structure and properties of these materials, including the composition dependence of the band structure, spin-orbit coupling, and Zeeman effects, remain poorly understood. Here, we investigated vacancy-ordered CsBiX (X= Cl, Br) perovskite nanocrystals using magnetic circular dichroism spectroscopy.
