Depression is a complex mental health condition characterized by persistent sadness, loss of interest, and a range of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral symptoms. It can be acute or chronic and is often influenced by a combination of genetic, biological, psychological, and social factors. According to transnational estimates of prevalence, depressive symptoms represent the most concerning challenge to mental health across cultures and beyond geographical borders.

Background: This study aimed to explore the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting changes to diabetes care, especially concerning disease control, the use of (tele)consultation and lessons worth implementing to improve diabetes care, with a specific focus on ethnic minority groups.
Methods: A mixed-methods prospective cohort study among people with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) treated in primary care during the COVID-19 pandemic. A survey was sent regionally, including items related to teleconsultation and amount of contact with the healthcare professional.

Introduction: Plastic surgery is an essential yet underdeveloped field in many African nations, especially in rural areas. The demand for plastic surgery is increasing, but differences in access to respective services between rural and urban domiciles remain ever existent, despite the exponentiation of trauma, burns, and congenital disorders. According to this review, urban areas have access to better facilities and specialized surgeons, while rural areas frequently lack infrastructure, educated healthcare personnel, and medical resources.
