Poorly differentiated gastric adenocarcinoma is commonly associated with lymph node metastasis, peritoneal spread, and liver metastasis but rarely with intraintestinal metastasis. Most patients with metastatic gastric carcinoma are unable to undergo surgical treatment and have a poor prognosis. A 42-year-old man with hunger-related abdominal pain was diagnosed as having gastric cancer.

Sixty-four-section CT colonography with water enema combines intracolonic neutral contrast agent with high-resolution CT images of the abdomen. Owing to submillimeter isotropic voxels, high-quality reformatted images are obtained. High-resolution images offer added value for the detection and localization of colonic lesions, evaluation of the local extent of the disease, and depiction, if any, of synchronous colorectal lesions and distant metastases.

Purpose: p53 and E-cadherin mutations are associated with a high risk of metastatic potential and local recurrence after colorectal surgery. LoVo, a human colon cancer cell line expressing a wild-type p53 and a normal E-cadherin, was studied.
