Here, we describe the first reported case of osteosarcoma occurring postsurgically in a tracheotomy tract, highlighting the possibility of osteosarcoma seeding during head and neck surgery. Preventative measures such as performing the tracheostomy after the tumor resection while walling off the tracheostomy site from the operative field should be considered.

Chemical burns account for a small percentage of burn patients, and there are even fewer burn patients suffering from chemical burns combined with inhalation injury. As chemical substances corrode the airway, which leads to persistent necrotic shedding of the respiratory mucosa and scarring contracture as the airway heals, a proportion of patients develop airway stenosis, requiring more aggressive treatment or even surgery. A 38-year-old female chemical factory worker sustained an inhalation injury due to exposure to reactive substances (liquid and smoke) during production.

Objective: To systematically evaluate potential risk factors for tracheal stenosis and to provide a reference for the prevention and management of patients with this condition.
Methods: Databases were searched to identify studies of the risk factors for tracheal stenosis, from their inception to October 2023, then a meta-analysis was performed. The study was registered with PROSPERO under the registration number CRD42023428906.

Squamous cell carcinoma of the hypopharyngeal region is a rare, aggressive disease with a poor prognosis and a high mortality rate, and represents up to 95% of all hypopharyngeal tumors. Patients with upper aerodigestive tract tumors can develop airway compromise before or during chemoradiotherapy. The present study aims to investigate the complication differences between elective tracheostomy and emergency-setting tracheostomy for patients with advanced hypopharyngeal squamous cell.

Restoration of extensive tracheal damage remains a significant challenge in respiratory medicine, particularly in instances stemming from conditions like infection, congenital anomalies, or stenosis. The trachea, an essential element of the lower respiratory tract, constitutes a fibrocartilaginous tube spanning approximately 10-12 cm in length. It is characterized by 18 ± 2 tracheal cartilages distributed anterolaterally with the dynamic trachealis muscle located posteriorly.
