A simple structured reaction-based probe for peroxynitrite (ONOO) was developed by using benzothiazole hydrazone base of the excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) dye. It was constructed from 2-hydrazinylpyridine and 3-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-2-hydroxy-5-methylbenzaldehyde which possesses itself weak fluorescence and displayed prominent fluorescence response towards ONOO by oxidizes the C=N bond to an aldehyde in aqueous solution. The probe exhibited excellent selectivity and high sensivity towards ONOO with a low dectection limit of 5.8 × 10 M in physiological condition. Moreover, the probe could realize fast recognition to ONOO in as short as 60 s. In addition, the probe was also successfully used for living cell imaging.

The sensitive and selective identification of nitroaromatic explosives and industrially ubiquitous nitrates, which are harmful to the environment, is crucial from the viewpoints of security and environmental remediation. New multifunctional fluorescent porous materials that can sense nitro-explosives and nitrates are under continuous development. To this end, this study synthesizes 3,10,15-/-3,10,16-tribromotrinaphtho[3.

This study highlights the importance of developing sensitive and selective sensors for use in pharmaceutical applications for the first time. A novel iron(III)-complex, constructed from unsymmetrical tetradentate NNN'O type Schiff base ligand (E)-3-((6-aminopyridin-2-yl)imino)-1-phenyl butane-1-one (LH) and its structure of it characterized by using various spectroscopic techniques such as FT-IR, UV-Vis, elemental analysis, conductivity, magnetic susceptibility measurements and the TGA method. The correlation of all results revealed that the coordination of the (LH) with the metal ion in a molar ratio of 1:1 leads to the formation of an octahedral geometry around the metal ions.

Environmental contamination by pharmaceuticals has become a matter of concern as they are released in sewage systems at trace levels, thus impacting biological systems. Increasing concerns about the low-level occurrence of pharmaceuticals in the environment demands sensitive and selective monitoring. Owing to their high sensitivity and specificity carbon dots (CDs) have emerged as suitable fluorescent sensors.

In this study, a mimetic fluorescence nanosensor based on a molecularly imprinted polymer was designed for the detection of amygdalin (AMG). Its characteristics and functional performance were investigated and recorded using ATR-FTIR, AFM and porosity tests. This designed sensor is considered superior to other reported techniques due to its low material consumption during both manufacturing and operation as well as its low cost and desirable performance characteristics, such as short response time, high stability and an appropriate detection limit.

Inspired by the emerging potential of photoluminescent hydrogels, this work unlocks new avenues for advanced biosensing, bioimaging, and drug delivery applications. Carbon quantum dots (CDs) are deemed particularly promising among various optical dyes, for enhancing polymeric networks with superior physical and chemical properties. This study presents the synthesis of CDs derived from Prunella vulgaris, a natural plant resource, through a single-step hydrothermal process, followed by their uniform integration into hydrogel matrices via an in situ free radical graft polymerization.
